Na`Vi to cut ties with ESforce after contract expiry

Natus Vincere and ESforce have decided against extending their partnership following the expiry of their contract.

The organization's media and advertising sales rights are set to revert to Zero Gravity Group, led by founder and former CEO of Natus Vincere, Alexander "ZeroGravity" Kokhanovskyy.

With Na`Vi reverting to Zero Gravity Group, they have effectively complied with WESA's anti-multi-ownership ruling

The two parties have decided against furthering their partnership, as ESforce holding "decided to focus on pursuing its own projects" while Natus Vincere are convinced that "independent development will have a positive impact on Na’Vi’s identification in the future."

In March this year, WESA took an anti-multi-ownership stance, giving the parties affected 18 months to come to compliance with the new ruling. With this move, Natus Vincere have cut ownership ties to Virtus.pro and SK, who remain owned by ESforce holding.

Nice

2017-11-28 17:58

Companies can't own more that one team because you could tell one team to lose to another, based on bets and such, not that it has ever been done or proven, it is still possible and WESA is like a player/team union that helps guides companies and sets rules, they are apart of esl, which holds a majority of major tournaments, so people comply. WESA stated that's if teams own by an organization that owned more than one team they wouldn't be allowed to participate in certain events.

It's fucking dumb because WESA is literally only built by ESL and no other organizers are involved. So WESA is basically just a sub-division of ESL pretending to be this large esports authority. Seemingly only having effect because ESL hosts a lot of the biggest non-major tournaments atm.

The rule makes sense ofc, but the actual organization of WESA itself is directly influenced by ESL and vice versa. They literally do not control anything else because they did not include any other TO on the board of Wesa, according to several articles they were not even invited for discussion when Wesa was in the making. WESA as an org itself is faulty because it is so directly tied with and funded by ESL, which makes it redundant at this point because ESL themselves could just do this directly.

Both your and krakens comments were very enlightening for someone that doesn't follow vs closely anymore, thank. You bring up an excellent point, because not only is having a privately owned company whom are the the majority of coordinators and benificators to their own interests, I think it shits on the whole idea of what unionization should be. Hopefully this isn't the case next year

One company (ESForce) owns Na'Vi, VP, and SK and this is a problem because the CEO rich cunt can tell the teams what to do and theoretically fix matches and regardless of who wins, he gets money. WESA said that companies can't own more than one team which is why Na'Vi is leaving.
