ESL comments on boltz & steel EPL cases

ESL has issued a statement to clarify the situations of Ricardo "boltz" Prass and Lucas "steel" Lopes in the ESL Pro League.

As recently reported, SK will be able to field loanee Ricardo "⁠boltz⁠" Prass at the upcoming ESL Pro League Finals, while Liquid will have to make do with coach Wilton "⁠zews⁠" Prado, as their newest member, Lucas "⁠steel⁠" Lopes, is ineligible to compete at the event.

According to ESL, boltz was transferred to SK's roster in the Pro League prior to the competition's November 10 trade deadline.

ESL confirms that steel's transfer took place after the trade deadline

steel, on the other hand, played his final match for Immortals on November 12 - two days past the deadline -, after which his contract was transferred to Liquid, rendering the player ineligible for the finals. The 24-year-old, who made his debut for Liquid at IEM Oakland, will make his next appearance for the team at the ECS Season 4 Finals, in Cancun, from December 15-17.

The ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals will take place from December 5-10 at the Sparekassen Fyn Arena, in Odense, with 12 teams facing off for the lion's share of a $750,000 prize pool.

All orgs now the deadlines, they should all be and act professional. If they wanted to use steel at EPL finals, maybe, just maybe kick Stanislow 2 days prior and get Steel. If it is way too hard to get your contract works done in time or fuck a teammember up, well, thats totally liquids fault and they dont deserve any special rule. They also could ask for an emergency transfer... but where is the emergency, Stanislaws low skills? Other Leagues also enforce transfer periods and deadlines and if you miss it just by 15 minutes (your connection is fucked up and you couldnt send the contract details to the league authorities in time) you are not allowed to use the player till the next transferperiod. No reason to do things lastt minute.

In that case, Liquid won't have to call too many timeouts to communicate Zews. He'll tell them what to do in the freeze times but he won't have the firepower that Steel has.

This is ridiculous. If you want to make CSGO a "more professional" scene, it doesnt need to necessarily be exactly like football or soccer ones. They have more than 20 active players that they can replace even during the matches. When it comes to players and LineUPS, CSGO is not comparable with regular sports like basketball, football, etc... . So it doesnt make sense to impose those window transfers rules. You can still punish someone that try to EXPLOIT those things but still, nonsense to be as tough as regular sports with the Line UPS

Bullshit. Arbitrary dates. SK didn't play single EPL match with boltz, but they get to use him just because he transferred two days earlier.
