fnatic edge past Luminosity; HellRaisers overrun Liquid

HellRaisers have moved up to first place in Group A after thrashing Liquid, while fnatic are now second following a close win over Luminosity.

The match between fnatic and Luminosity, on Cobblestone, began with the Brazilians winning the pistol round with a fast A execution, with the Swedes hitting back immediately on eco.

fnatic made LG pay for that mistake, stringing five rounds together to secure a comfortable lead. However, Gustavo "yel" Knittel's side would not give up so easily and won eight rounds straight after constantly punishing the CTs' overaggression. The final round of the half would still go to fnatic, who brought the deficit to 9-6.

fnatic get their second win in Odense

In the second half, fnatic won a near-flawless CT pistol and back-to-back anti-ecos to tie up the score at 9-9. yel then won an all-important round by clutching a 1v2 with an AWP in hand, with Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato then raising eyebrows with a quad-kill in the following round.

With fnatic down 9-12, Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson rescued his team with a 1v2 clutch inside A. That ended up being a major turning point in the game as the Swedes ran all over the Luminosity defense for the rest of the half, sealing a 16-13 win that moves them up to second in Group A.

Meanwhile, HellRaisers made light work of Liquid on Inferno. The European team came out with fire in their bellies and stormed to an 11-2 lead on the CT side, but Liquid still kept their hopes alive by bagging the final two rounds of the half.

There would be no miraculous comeback, though, as Kyrylo "ANGE1" Karasiow's side picked up where they had left off, winning five rounds in a row to win the match with a dominant 16-4 scoreline.

Fnatic top 1 both epl and ECS leagues lol. If you consider this as "dead team" it's something wrong with you.

Damn HR looks strong, but I still don't understand why did they bench bondik, he is just so much better than deadbot.

bondik had motivation problems and they benched him because he reduced the team's morale (like they did with oskar before)

Fnatic always do better in LAN events than online, some teams just get a better performance on lan such as SK / VP / Fnatic emotional intelligence is always underrated , but it is vital in E-sports. Luminosity needs a little development in that area, that is clear after the 11-0 that became a full contested overtime with HH, respecting HH comeback but lum still have room to improve in there.

LG is on that classical moment of transition, when a team was used to get trashed but now is actually able to fight with the big dogs and get respectable scores. The early leads and late chokes resulting on defeats is a typical symptom, it happened in 2015 and early 2016 with FalleN's LG as well... hell, remember Katowice 2016 finals (two 12-3 first halves, two OT defeats)? We can only conclude that LG is DEFINITELY evolving. On ECS they will be on fire and I see upsets coming.

LG is one of the most inconsistent teams ever. I mean... You can't expect anything from PKL, but the other 4, or they are on fire, or they are bot and they never seem to show up together. They are doing some damage because chelo is showing up, and they even won when chelo and yel did their job, but you can only be frustrated with this team.
