NiP beat OpTic; Misfits stun North at EPL S6 Finals

In the first official match against his former team, Adam "⁠friberg⁠" Friberg led OpTic to start things off on the right foot, winning the CT pistol and the following anti-eco. However, a third-round buy from Ninjas in Pyjamas opened up a way for the Swedes to pick up a 5-2 lead.

The European mixture would not back down, and went on to equalize things off. Despite their economy getting reset, Richard "⁠Xizt⁠" Landström's men almost pulled off the 11th round with nothing but pistols. Still, Ninjas in Pyjamas would only be able to win the penultimate round of the half, which they could not follow up because of Emil "⁠Magisk⁠" Reif finding four enemies to secure a 9-6 half-time lead for his side.

NiP survive OpTic test

The Swedish team responded with the second pistol win to tie up the score, and with the first gun round to get back to the lead. Nevertheless, OpTic levelled it up once again thanks to a successful B execution in an eco round.

After losing the following round, OpTic replied with two successful strategies to reset their opponents' economy, earning themselves room to pick up a 13-11 lead. After that, however, Ninjas in Pyjamas kept winning rounds, eventually hitting match-point with an ace from William "⁠draken⁠" Sundin.

Despite OpTic finding a lifeline by winning the 29th round, NiP went on to close out the map with Xizt denying Kevin "⁠HS⁠" Tarn from clutching a 1v3 situation.

Meanwhile, North and Misfits also battled it out on Cobblestone, with the latter quickly securing a 3-0 score after picking up the CT pistol. The Danes would then rally themselves to the lead, but the half proved to be a hard-fought affair, with the North Americans switching sides with an 8-7 lead.

Sean "⁠seang@res⁠" Gares' squad began the second half by securing their second pistol of the game, setting themselves up for an 11-7 score. Although North then won the first gun round, Misfits' gameplan kept shutting them down, with the North Americans losing only one more to finish things off 16-9.
