New York to host ESEA S26 MDL Global Challenge

New York has been chosen to host the upcoming MDL Global Challenge, ESEA has announced.

The event will run from January 4-8 and feature the leading teams of the European, North American and Australian Premier divisions, who will square off for $50,000 in cash prizes.

In addition to the MDL Global Challenge matches, the venue, which will be closed to spectators, will also stage the ESL Pro League Season 6 relegation matches as ESEA and ESL seek to "guarantee the highest quality conditions" for the teams who will be fighting for spots in the prestigious league.

Space Soldiers won the previous MDL Global Challenge event

Below you can find the eight teams who will be taking part in the MDL Global Challenge:

GX	Ghost Academy
AGO	eXtatus
Space Soldiers	Chiefs

Space Soldiers are the defending MDL Global Challenge champions after beating FlipSid3 in the final of the previous event, which took place in September in Burbank.

More details about the MDL Global Challenge, including team seeding and format, will be released shortly, ESEA has confirmed.

The prize money distribution remains the following:

1. $18,000
2. $10,000
3-4. $5,000
5-8. $3,000

Dude I was wondering about create an org to compete with the following players: Swag (take him from GX) Hiko (take him from tier3-4 Rogue) n0thing (benched on CLOUD9, he would have much more utility out of there) shroud (same case as n0thing) Koosta (unemployed right now hahaha) In case you guys are in doubt about swag (since he is banned by Valve) we could go with naHte, who is in the same situation as koosta. Trust me, practicing togheter they would reach tier1 easily. Thats just a dream I have hahahaha
