Brazil reclaims MDL Global Challenge spot for ESEA S27

Brazil will reclaim its spot at the MDL Global Challenge in Season 27, ESEA has confirmed.

The winner of the ESEA Open League in Brazil will once again qualify for the MDL Global Challenge, joining the top three teams from the Premier divisions in both Europe and North America, and the winner of the Australian division.

Brazil will not send a representative to the upcoming Season 26 Global Challenge due to scheduling constraints, with the spot being taken by the fourth-placed team from North America. The event will take place from January 4-8 in New York, with $50,000 up for grabs.

Registration for ESEA S27 is now open and will remain so until January 15, with matches due to start only six days later.  A total of $150,000 will be on offer across the leagues this season, which will introduce some changes to the National Championship structure.

Brazil never had more than one top team, SK. Sweden had 2, Fnatic and Nip, with 4 majors. Sweden is the Cs:go country then. France have 2 majors too.

"Had" First of all, ofc we had two top tier teams this year. But I was talking about now. SK > fnatic + NiP easily this year. It's better to be in the top 3 consistently, most of the time in the top position, than to struggle against low tier teams for months and spend some time even outside of the top 10. Denmark could be top 1 with 2 strong teams but I don't think North is going further than where they are now with MSL. And we'll have ex-IMT back so we'll see. SK + 100 thieves > Astralis + North probably. Other teams outside of the top 10 are not so relevant NiP were out of the top 10 for 5 or 6 months this year. Fnatic were probably even worse. Last time SK were out of the top 5 was almost 2 years ago

sk is better than both of them, no doubt, but to say that imt is above astralis and north, when they haven't played yet, it's stupid

I said it's arguable for SK only. But SK + 100 thieves/ex IMT > Astralis + North, definitely. I mean SK have won 8 tournaments this year, they're by far the best team. But Denmark would probably be top 1 this year if it wasn't for ex-IMT. Still, Sweden are pretty far away nowadays, but they were worse at some months, they're definitely improving

agree mostly, but as I said, we need to see ex-imt players, it was a long time ago when we saw them playing, plus fnx. So I would wait few matches to see if they are still good, or maybe they dropped a bit. Such a long time out of the game doesnt help them

That he was good years ago doesnt mean he is good now, especially if you say he was a champion 12 years ago in a totally different game. Look at all the 1.6 legends that suck now in csgo

He was a champion 12 years ago, and again 2 years ago... Do you think that stay out of focus for 1 year would stop him ? plz, shut up...

That he was one 12 year ago doesnt matter. It can still be that he is good because he won a major 2 years ago, but because he was out of the competitive scene for a year or so now, i would wait to see his first games before saying he is still good. And take an example on your friend Collee, he responds nicely and you can have a nice debate with him, unlike you

I thought the same about IMT. I mean I think they'll surprise us again. The problem is that it'll probably won't last long. It's definitely not hard to be top 10 nowadays lol, especially not for them. I can definitely see them being better/even than/with NiP, fnatic, G2, VP(lul)... These teams were one day struggling against tier 4 teams, and then suddenly they were at the top 10 again. Gambit as well... it's definitely not hard to get there. It might be hard to stay for like 6 months+

idk he might improve with them, let's wait. Also he's the igl, I don't expect that much fire power from him. They actually don't need him playing out of his mind, just some consistency. But he might get good at this game with their help. We all know the potential he has
