SK, Cloud9 & North invited to cs_summit2

SK Gaming, North and Cloud9 have all been invited to attend cs_summit2, the event's organisers have revealed.

The trio are joined by MOUZ, who won the European qualifier co-hosted by LOOT.BET and UCC, with the remaining four teams still to be determined.

SK are the defending cs_summit champions after beating Gambit in the grand final of the first edition, which took place in April 2017. Cloud9 came in fourth place in the tournament, in which they fielded Braxton "⁠swag⁠" Pierce as a stand-in for Tyler "⁠Skadoodle⁠" Latham, while North did not take part in the competition.

SK won the first cs_summit with felps on the roster

cs_summit2 will run from February 8-11 at Beyond The Summit's house, in Los Angeles, with $150,000 on the line. The list of participants for the event currently looks as follows:

Actually every team in the top 5 is pretty easy for this new SK lineup with Boltz, only team that gives them trouble is Astralis and G2 (who are not top 5) also with Astralis never getting back to form after that major they won early last year SK doesn't really have much competition anymore.

Astralis is top 5. We have yet to see SK beat NiP in a bo3 Last time they played this Cloud9 roster they got smashed. Also Faze is not easy for them. If it was easy for them it wouldn't be so close every time they played.

You aren't including individual maps. Even in the 3x1 3 of the maps were pretty close. That's like saying winning 16-14 on 3 maps isn't close because you won 3-0.

Niko choked more than karrigan. Niko is TOP 2 normally, but in finals (not just against SK) he is a normal player. That shot that he missed against TACO in mid (mirage) and boltz in CT wasnt his normal.

Astralis actually beat SK and device made Fallen his b*tch in Krakow iirc. Full roster Astralis will always be hard for SK to beat, even in Blast PRO Fallen had to go nuts and Device had to miss the event for SK to beat Astralis.

I think the CS scene needed it at the time. It offered something that hasn't really been scene for a tournament for tier 3+ tournaments. I think it made it enjoyable when the players casted the maps, it had a great format with ONLY BO3s, and it didn't really matter who won.

Cool little tournament, even though summit title is meaningless in the grand scheme of things I think the players enjoyed that event so I'm happy for them to play another, here's to hoping teams actually take this one seriously and SK just doesn't get an easy win like last summit.
