AnJ, Basso to play for North Academy at Assembly Winter

Allan "AnJ" Jensen and Sebastian "Basso" Aagaard are part of the line-up submitted by North Academy for Assembly Winter.

The Danish team have been tipped to bring in two new players as Daniel "mertz" Mertz has been recruited by the organisation's main team, and Nicklas "gade" Gade is expected to follow suit owing to Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke reportedly needing to take a break for personal reasons.

Allan "AnJ" Jensen, 23, recently returned to Denmark from a six-month spell in North America with NRG, with whom he attended three DreamHack Open events and the ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals. Prior to his stint overseas, he was notably part of the Singularity roster that won Copenhagen Games 2017 after beating Epsilon, BIG and dreamchasers.

AnJ will play for North Academy at Assembly Winter

Sebastian "Basso" Aagaard, 19, is mostly known for his time with the Reason Gaming squad that placed third in the Gfinity Elite Series Season 2. He was the team's top player in the league, averaging a 1.32 rating after finishing all maps with 1+ ratings.

North Academy have been drawn in Group B for Assembly Winter, along with ALTERNATE aTTaX, HAVU and FC Lahti Menace. A total of $15,000 will be on offer at the Finnish event, which will run from February 2-3.

The Danish team will attend the event with:

Denmark Dennis "sycrone" Nielsen
Denmark Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand
Denmark Johannes "b0RUP" Borup
Denmark Allan "AnJ" Jensen
Denmark Sebastian "Basso" Aagaard

VP can beat astralis/sk/g2 in bo3’s, same for nip, remember epicenter and Oakland Heroic is a solid tier 2 and that’s it.

There is nothing telling that Astralis will make any roster move North will be gade mertz msl aizy valde rubino k0nfig and cajunb are teamless and it wouldn't be surprising if one or two of them are teamless when the roster changes are over

this would be nuts honestly, but I don't see any danish speaking IGL that could join them, the only one that comes to mind is pimp, but does he have the shoulders to lead that many stars ? doubt it

Yeah it's easy to find a skilled player when you compare it to finding a skilled igl that understands the game. Denmark has a lot of talent, maybe they can get 5 skilled players and one of them start igling like C9 did with tarik, idk, but that's a risk they should take if they don't find this igl

This AnJ guy should be joining Heroic or North. Pretty dumb move moving to NA, he was a beast on Singularity. Same applies to CeRq

Yeah dumb move career wise due to missing opportunities in Europe however at the same time I’m sure he was making a lot with NRG considering the deep pockets of their investors. Probably made more with NRG than at least heroic maybe even North.

Yeah but he won't win anything with this team. I mean I like Brehze, the others are just meh. Outlaws was a much better team, and he could have joined a lineup with v1c7or, bubble and 2 more

well, if he keeps on developing as a player and an English speaker, don't you think that opportunities will arise? Consider the fact that teams like Liquid don't really have a solid AWPer... well, you know where we're going
