LPL launches Alpha Invitational with ~$7,300 prize pool
LetsPlay.Live ventures into CS:GO by hosting a six-team tournament for the Oceanic region, with $10,000 NZD (~$7,300) on offer.
The New Zealand-based organiser has hosted tournaments for several other game titles in the past including Call of Duty, Tekken 7 and more. They have decided to launch a new CS:GO tournament called the "Alpha Invitational", which will feature five weeks of best-of-one round-robin matches, accumulating to best-of-three offline finals at the LPL studios in Auckland, New Zealand for the following two weeks.

The top team from the round-robin stage will earn a spot in the grand final, with the second and third-placed teams moving on to the semi-final, and the winner of that series progressing on to the final.
All matches of the six-team league will be broadcasted live, with every match scheduled to take place on Thursday nights during the season, kicking off on February 15. LPL revealed they have invited three notable teams in the scene, with half of the teams being determined through the open qualifiers' double-elimination format, set to take place on February 10.
