RUBINO set to join Heroic - Report

Former dignitas and North member Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel will join Heroic after cs_summit 2, according to a report from Flickshot.fr.

The Norwegian player will reportedly step into the shoes of Patrick "⁠es3tag⁠" Hansen, who will be moved to bench upon returning from Los Angeles, eight months after being recruited from Tricked in the wake of Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså's exit to North.

Ruben "⁠RUBINO⁠" Villarroel's future has been up in the air since January, when he was released from his contract with dignitas after a frustrating second spell with the US-based organisation.

RUBINO will link up with Heroic after cs_summit 2

He is no stranger to playing for a Danish side, having competed under Mathias "⁠MSL⁠" Lauridsen between 2015 and 2017 on dignitas and North. During this period, the team most notably won EPICENTER 2016 after beating Virtus.pro in the final.

In December, he played for Astralis as a stand-in at the ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals and at the ECS Season 4 Finals, helping the team to reach the semi-finals at the latter event with a 1.24 average rating.

CajunB has never been close to a world class awper anyway, but he has potential still to be a top rifler.. Not convinced he's an upgrade from anyone on this roster though.

If you want Heroic to be an below average team with lots of firepower but no real leadership, then sure. Rubino is a good support player but mediocre as an IGL, while snappi has been sucking out the talent of these cunts to drive Heroic to some regional success.

Understandable IMO. Es3tag hasn't looked good in a while. I think RUBINO is a decent replacement.

cool, but I was kinda hoping that k0nfig would join instead of es3tag. Heroic desperately needs firepower and a star player more than they need a better support player niko hasn't been able to fill valde's shoes and MODDII is not a playmaker. Rubino is an improvement but not enough to bring this team to the next level imo

I don't think it's that realistic to expect Heroic to go that much further than they are now. I mean; North, Astralis, Heroic(?)...Denmark has a decent scene but size of country etc. Not that realistic to imagine 3 top tier teams at the same time in DK. In my eyes Heroic is a good team but more of a development team, like an academy team, than a team that can realistically get much better.

Rubino is a more supportive team player. If his team does well, he's also doing well. No wonder he averaged a 1.24 rating in EPL S6 Finals

I really like Rubino, and think he will add something good to Heroic in the pursuite for greater things, but hasn't es3tag been quite good at his time at Heroic or am i mistaken? I just had the impression they where improving greatly and es3tag was doing pretty good. Do correct me if im mistaken, im just curious.
