Extensive Nuke changes in newest update

Valve have just released a new CS:GO update, which features several pivotal changes to Nuke.

Some of the changes to Nuke include the removal of the outside catwalk, while it's no longer possible to access the crane on top of the A bombsite, which connects the two catwalks in upper.

The inner bombsite received more significant adjustments in the form of the removal of the window in hut and the ladder leading to the aforementioned crane.

Nuke has been the least played map in competitive play since the new version was introduced in the Active Duty map pool in April 2016, with only a little over 6% of all matches having been played on Nuke since that time.

The gameplay changes from the latest update can be found below:

Nuke:

Removed outer catwalk completely
Removed helper catwalk onto silo
New type of skylight windows in A site
Added some cover in corner at back of B site
Removed railings when entering B site from ramp
Removed window in hut
Moved entrance to hut slightly further in
Moved up spawns for both teams
Flipped static doors at T entrance to ramp
Blocked off “old secret” area outside of garage
Added solid white walls near CT spawn
Rotated container outside of garage, and removed some smaller crates
Removed access to crane inside of A site, made more of rafters accessible
Reverted box-path onto hut inside A site to the old configuration
Removed ladder up to rafters from inside A site
Added collision for physics objects (except grenades) near water in B site
For tournament organizers, the old version of Nuke is available on the Workshop.

The only pros who said it was a good map were pros who were really good on the map, Nuke was the least played map pre overpass and cobble for a reason, it was far too CT sided and didn't make for good games of counter strike.

Nuke was a map where communication was key, it allowed teams who had been together for a long time (NiP & VP) have a lot of success and really screwed over teams which didn't have perfect communication. Sure that helps with smart CS but doesn't make for a good viewing experience.

VP & NiP added it to their map pool because they were floundering on all their maps Vs any half decent team, so turned to Nuke because no one wanted to play it but weren't currently banning it. To say it's because they have "good communication" is naive.

Tactical no, comms heavy yes, big difference between being able to communicate properly and being good at tactics. NiP and VP were never heavy tactical teams but were the best at the map just because they had perfect comms.

Plus with 1.6 being heavily wallbangable if players held CT spots that were common they were likely to get sprayed through a wall and killed helping make the map a little less CT sided than the GO version of the map.

There are enough people enjoying it. I think it's more that most people just expect a map to have the standard dust2 layout (basically resembling this typical window pattern). Nuke actually provides a little diversity in terms of map layout.

Indeed they have. It’s maddening when you are a big fan of the game mechanics. The effort is just so incredibly fucking minimalistic - they would apparently rather focus on Dota 2 (I hate that game, It’s so bad) and VR (interesting but come on It’s no excuse). I dislike this Nuke coming in, It’s reminding me of the old one just with better windows. While it will be interesting, no window in hut and no catwalk will make it a game of hide and seek in the smokes.

These all look like good changes but we'll see if it changes the randomness of rounds somewhat. At least this map isn't boring. Getting rid of the whole upper level will probably shrink the map and make it a bit more reasonable, but not having as many T openings now could be bad. They also haven't removed that gay as fuck forklift With any luck this will mean cobblestone is out for dust 2 although I'm not super thrilled about that either. Both maps are a but stale in the way they have to be played

Nuke is gonna be way more CT sided now. I do agree with removing the outside catwalk though. If you lost your garage guy on CT side, you were pretty much going to get pinchfucked by heaven, hut, and mini all at the same time. That catwalk made it really hard to hold A in a 4v5.

i don't like those changes... it feels they are futher limiting options (no window no catwalk) and map gonna be even more boring now ... from 20 round now you can expect 28rounds of control smoke outside and split into A or B. 2 rounds gonna be vent rush in full eco. They should rly go back to gd 1.6 Nuke (with all wallbanging) and change only phoenix entrance to the new one. It's not gonna be perfect at start but its better rather than this frankenstein they created. PS. de_tuscan when ?

this game is random and only luck. This game need more Highest individual skill new graphics new effects like bigger granade explosion more damage and affter explosion your noises very low. And of course change gameplay style more free movement new recoil, tick rate, and better spray.
