SK beat North for a spot in upper bracket final

SK win their second best-of-three in Los Angeles, this time against North, and clinch a spot in the upper bracket final.

The first pistol round of the match, on Cobblestone, went the way of North as Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså was able to win a 1vs2 after-plant against Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and Marcelo "coldzera" David by stalling the duo long enough for the bomb to explode. Once again valde was able to close the second round, the anti-eco, against the same two players. The first gun round also went the way of North, as the Danes played a fast A fake, and after overtaking Fernando "fer" Alvarenga and FalleN forced SK to save three rifles.

SK finally got on the board on the fifth round as coldzera got three big opening frags defending the B site during a fast push by the terrorists. SK were then able to double up as coldzera once again went huge with three kills on the B site. The big plays paid off and SK quickly took the reins, winning round after round. Down 4-7, North finally called a timeout, but were unable to win a round until the last one in the half, and went into the half down 5-10.

The second pistol round went the way of SK, as the fully armoured quintet were able to take the A site and eliminate the CT-side. The first weapon round of the second half came around with SK up 13-5, but North took it to stay in the game as Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye set the round up by getting two early entries. Quickly the match started to shift as North regained composure and won round after round, but eventually fell short despite valde’s 33 frags, as SK were able to close the last few rounds ending 16-13.

SK remain on the upper bracket after defeating North

The first pistol round of the second map, Inferno, went the way of North, as the red-hot valde once again showed his form by getting the three first frags of the map. The first gun round finally went the way of SK, who were able to defend the B site despite three big AWP kills by Daniel "mertz" Mertz. SK then followed it up, defending an A execute, ruining North’s economy. After winning against a forcebuy and an eco, SK finally took the lead, 4-3. SK once again got the momentum on their side, but North were able to pepper some rounds in to go 6-9 into the half and keep their chances in the map alive.

The second pistol round also went the way of the Danes, whose aggressive play on the CT side paid off in the first round, but SK played a fast A round on the force to keep their lead on the scoreboard. SK then started to run away with the match, again, winning an anti-eco and the following gun round to get within two of match point. Down 8-14, a big retake by Philip "aizy" Aistrup, Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen, and Kjaerbye gave the Danes some breathing room as they started to bring the match back around. SK had a bomb down in a 3vs2, but a big play by valde running through smoke and getting a double kept his team in the match.

With 14-14 on the board, SK found themselves on the wrong end of a losing streak and having to force up. A clean round by the Brazilians taking the A site got them to match point, but they were unable to bag the map as North forced overtime. SK started winning the first round of OT, but it was eventually North that took the 17-16 lead in the half after a triple by Kjaerbye pushed them over the edge in the third round. Having won the first round of the second half North had the keys to the win, but SK shut it down in the last round with FalleN and fer cleaning the Danes from pushing B to take it to double OT.

A masterful 1vs2 by Kjaerbye to close the first round kicked off the second OT on Inferno, and were able to close out the half with a big triple by aizy to go into the second half of the second OT ahead, 20-19. SK were able to pull out heroics on the first round of the second half, as FalleN and Ricardo "boltz" Prass won a 2vs5 to tie it up. An A hit following an opening pick by FalleN on aizy ended up with the Brazilians taking the lead and match point, and closing it out with a clean round, 22-20.

Indeed! Fun team to watch as well! I really can't understand the hate towards MSL, always fraging and always gets the best out of his team mates potentials.

Some people only like to see the raw results and don't really care about all the training and preparation behind the scenes. That's where MSL excels

north looks promising, but valde had to do insane work though. I hope they don't have to rely on that. kjaerbye's 1vs2 afterplant spray in ot was insane too. that 2vs5 broke their neck. overall good cs, especially that inferno match.

Valdemar is an fairly common name in Denmark, and can be traced back to the middel ages. Also it was the name of one of the first Kings of Denmark, Valdemar the Great.
