mousesports and Natus Vincere move into the 2-0 bracket in Kiev

mousesports and Natus Vincere move into the 2-0 bracket of the Swiss group stage after beating SK and Gambit, respectively, in three map matches.

The Gambit vs. Natus Vincere match kicked off on Overpass, with the former taking the lead out of the gate after muscling their way to the B site and taking the round after eliminating all their opponents, but Natus Vincere won the forcebuy as doubles by Denis "electroNic" Sharipov and Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev with the CZ and scout, respectively, gave their team the equalizer. Gambit fought back and won a forcebuy of their own, establishing a lead in the early game.

Natus Vincere were eventually able to get back in the game, and closed the early 3-7 deficit into a 7-8 half, but Gambit won the second pistol round to deny Natus Vincere the equalizer, although Egor "flamie" Vasilyev and co. were able to bring it even after 20 rounds, 10-10. Late in the map, Natus Vincere brought it close but were eventually unable to win, giving it up to Gambit, 16-13. s1mple, whose performance is usually vital to his team’s results delivered a mediocre performance, while Abay "HObbit" Khassenov went off with 28 kills and a 1.43 map rating.

Na`Vi were able to close out Train on the terrorist side

Natus Vincere started Mirage on a better foot, winning the first pistol round, the anti-ecos, and the first gun round for a 4-0 lead on the attacking side. The Russian-Ukrainian side then put out unrelentless aggression, winning almost every round. Midway through the half, though, Gambit linked a couple rounds together to put Natus Vincere in economic turmoil and were able to bring a one-sided half back to 7-8.

The second half started with Gambit winning another pistol round thanks to a triple by Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov, tying the match up and taking the lead after winning the anti-ecos. s1mple was back in the game, however, leading his team on the scoreboard and keeping the match close. With 12-12 on the board, Natus Vincere were able to win three in a row to get on match point, closing the map out eventually as s1mple broke the 30 frag mark.

AdreN’s men were no match for Na`Vi’s attack on Train

The third and final map of the series, Train, saw Natus Vincere start on the CT side and take the first pistol round. The first gun round was going the way of Gambit, but a 1vs3 by Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko on A with a FAMAS kept Natus Vincere ahead with a clean sheet. As Gambit were mounting a comeback, 3-6, s1mple denied them with an ace, but he then lost a 1vs2 HObbit and Denis "seized" Kostin and Natus Vincere had to go on an eco. The half, which started in Na`Vi’s favor, ended with them barely taking it, 8-7.

The second half was a one-team show, as Zeus & co. took the pistol round on the attacking side and gave up only two rounds in the half before closing the match out, 16-9, to keep their record in the tournament clean.

The B stream match, which pitted MOUZ and SK kicked off on Mirage, where MOUZ took the early lead after winning the T-side pistol round and the following anti-ecos. SK went down 0-4, but then started piling rounds together to take the lead, 5-4, a one round lead they maintained all the way to the half-time pause.

The second half saw MOUZ settle into the defending position, where they won six of the first seven rounds—the one being a 2vs5 by Marcelo "coldzera" David and Epitacio "TACO" de Melo—with Robin "ropz" Kool and Miikka "suNny" Kemppi putting in good numbers to keep the Brazilians at bay. The European combine gave up one more round, but were then able to win the following round and get on match point. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo & co. stayed alive with doubles by TACO and coldzera to go 11-15 and send MOUZ into an eco. The Brazilian squad clawed their way to the thirtieth round, but landed just short of the shore as a triple by Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný in B stopped SK on their tracks, giving MOUZ the 16th round.

mouz move on to the 2-0 bracket

The second map, Cobblestone, started with SK taking control on defense. It wasn’t until the sixth round that MOUZ got on the board with a clean sweep of the B bomb site. Little by little MOUZ started to get back in the half, but coldzera helped keep SK up with excellent defensive play on B. The half ended 9-6 for SK, with the second half open for the taking.

After switching sides MOUZ won the second pistol round and the anti-ecos, tying it up the match and putting the ball in SK’s court. The match went back-and-forth as both teams traded rounds and kept the match tied. Heading into the final stretch, though, it was SK who were able to dismantle MOUZ’ defenses, winning the map 16-11 and taking it to a third.

SK were unable to break mouz’s defenses on Inferno

Inferno was slated as the decider map, and SK started out winning it on the CT side as Ricardo "boltz" Prass and coldzera each got a double in the pistol round to kick it off. The third round went the way of MOUZ, who were able to follow it up and tie it up early on, 2-2. oskar got a quad-kill, including a 1vs2 afterplant defense, after which MOUZ jumped on the early lead, which they kept all the way to the half, 9-6.

Having won the pistol round, SK were able to tie the match, 9-9, after taking both anti-ecos. With guns in their hands, MOUZ was another team, winning six rounds in a row to match point, and closing it out after losing only one gun round in the whole half, 16-10.

Feel so sorry for cold and fallen. Elite players on a whole other level putting up with 3 retarded monkeys. That sure is hard to watch. I'm actually hoping for them to go out on group stage so they can kick Taco already. FFS, they played with 4 people on inferno. Taco was always looking at the wrong place. Such a silver.
