DreamHack Masters Marseille Asian qualifiers announced

SoStronk have announced the Asian qualifiers for DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018, with one team from the region earning their spot to the $250,000 event.

The main event will be held at Le Dôme de Marseille in Marseille, France from April 18-22, consisting of sixteen teams from around the world. With one spot up for grabs, the Asian qualifier will consist of two online phases - open regional qualifiers and the closed stage.

The Indian-based organizer SoStronk has partnered up with DreamHack again to run Asia's open regional qualifiers from February 24 to March 3, and the closed qualifier from March 6-8.

Asia will send a team to DreamHack Masters Marseille

The closed qualifier will feature eight teams, with the winner being determined through a best-of-three, single-elimination bracket.

Two notable teams from the region have been invited to the closed stage, accompanied by the winners of the respective open regional qualifiers:

Was gonna say ez 4 order but then realized they are probably at Katowice right now. I don't think Order will have time to play the open qualifiers since they weren't invited like TyLoo. Oh well, GL to Tainted Minds and GH.

SoStronk has like literally the worst hit reg of all. I would even from malaysia rather play on EU ESEA servers than singapore sostronk ones

Actually yes man and ping is more like 130 to nearest ESEA servers and FaceIT ones are in singapore so I'm cool but sostronk is bad stuff mate.

They will not and it sucks. Always the same teams getting free invites to the qualifiers, and African teams never get a chance.

how does africa feature in ASIA qualifiers? Also african teams have got chances before,could not come up with anything.Valve tried prmoting india and africa in 2014-15,nothing happened.

yeh but the problem is india didnt have much exprience going to that major , here in north africa we play with 50 / 60 ping against europeans and we got exprience its just isnt enough to qualify since they are still playing with 60 ping and 70 vs 10 and 5 and its worth a shot since the community in north africa is quite big

yeh thats kinda sad , maybe bravado will prove them wrong and then maybe an org will consider investing or creating some sort of tournaments in north africa and south africa

Since Bravado has moved to America now, they will only play in American leagues and tournaments, which IMO is quite a restriction. Still better than playing solely in South Africa, though.
