ESL Pro League China closed qualifier invites revealed

Six teams have been directly invited to the ESL Pro League Season 7 China closed qualifier, according to ESL Asia on Twitter.

After revealing the invites for Oceania and South-East Asia closed qualifiers, it was (East Asia) China's turn to confirm their list of invitees, which included South Korean powerhouse MVP PK, the rising samurais SCARZ Absolute and more.

Due to the Asia-Pacific Finals (April 20-22) clashing with DreamHack Masters Marseille's dates (April 18-22), the top Chinese team TYLOO decided to attend the $250,000 French event instead of taking part in their region's closed qualifier for ESL Pro League Season 7, HLTV.org has learned.

XigN's MVP PK received an invitation to the EPL China closed qualifier

The Chinese closed qualifier is scheduled to take place on March 27-29, featuring eight teams duking it out in a best-of-three, double-elimination format. From there, the top three teams of the qualifier will compete at the Asia-Pacific Finals, held at the ESL studios in Sydney, Australia.

Here is the list of contestants for the Chinese closed qualifier:

Mongolia The MongolZ  China Eclipse
Korea MVP PK   China Flash
Japan SCARZ Absolute   Other 5POWER
China ROAR  China Open Qual. #2

The first Chinese open qualifier witnessed ROAR's qualification to the closed stage after a 2-1 victory against fellow countrymen NewliFe. If you are from the five eligible countries (Mongolia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea), there is still time for your team to register for the second Chinese open qualifier (March 25) on 5ewin's platform here.

Nice

Why isn't there anyting about that in news? Anyways, if that's true then it's kinda sad, Savage looked promising, he was the Asian kennyS, but dropped down

both of them made posts on Weibo but the ViCi page is always very slow with updates on their CS team. They made a post showing the remaining 3 players show up at their new HQ but thats it

"the rising samurais SCARZ" racist or nah I don't see hltv saying "the rising bullfighters Moviestars"

I do not think it is racism. Samurais are considered nobel and privileged in Japanese culture, just like U+58EB in Chinese culture. Therefore this word contains the respect to those Japanese athletes. However this word is also widely used in popular field, so your point is also reasonable and it might not be proper to use this word here.

Really great lineup of teams, but kind of surprised by The Mongolz pick seeing as they don’t really have the players hey used to have. FeelsBadMan, really loving this SZ Absolute Roster tbh
