eXtatus ended groups with two wins and four losses, splitting maps with x-kom and Virtus.pro and losing two close affairs to MOUZ at the end of day one, which sent them home in 5th-6th place.

We caught up with the team's in-game leader, Richard "⁠queztone⁠" Strnátko, on the final day of the tournament and asked him about their experience in Hungary, as well as the state of the local scene.

How would you rate your showing at the tournament? Did you at least expect to make it out of groups?

I'd rate it positively since we weren't the favorites of the tournament, we'll have to wait for that. We really wanted to make it out of groups, but what can you do. I think if there were BO3s it would have turned out differently, but that's just my theory.

It was definitely a little disappointing, but we still have a lot to do, we're a young team. The good thing is that we were able to play very close games, and now I know we're close to making it to the top of the CS scene.

All of your losses were quite close, which ones do you regret most and why?

We mainly regret the loss to x-kom [on Mirage], we should have closed it out, we need to play more calmly in the future.

What did you take away from the tournament? What were you missing to make it further?

We got some more experience, I think every loss gives you something, you can learn from each loss. We played badly individually in some matches, it would have looked differently if we all put up numbers in each game, but you can't do anything about that, I think in the future it'll be better and better.

What do you have in the nearest future? Have you set any specific goals for the next few months?

We've got the online HellCase cup in the next few months, I think, and possibly some local qualifier. Our goal is to progress further and further in the HLTV ranking.

The current MDL season didn't go well for you after eLiVe replaced frozen due to the new age restrictions in the league - what do you make of the rule?

Well, we had to accept the change in rules as it is, we didn't sweat it. eLiVe played with us, we thank him for that, otherwise I wouldn't sweat it. It was just too bad that we didn't have the time to practice with him, that's all.

While most of the local scene is going through big changes, eXtatus have kept the same lineup for over a year. How do you see the current state of the CZ/SK scene, and the fact that few teams can stick together?

The state of our scene is that people can't create normal teams and play together, one guy can't play with another and it's a never-ending story. Another thing is that there are very few organizations that can provide support.
