MVP PK beat Grayhound to win CS:GO Asia Summit

MVP PK have been crowned champions of CS:GO Asia Summit 2018 after beating Grayhound 2-0 (16-9 on Mirage, 19-17 on Nuke).

The four-team event culminated with MVP PK, who had defeated BOOT-d[S] in the previous stage of the bracket, taking on Grayhound, who had edged past TYLOO in a three-map series.

The title decider kicked off on Inferno, where MVP PK proved why this was their map pick as they lost just three rounds throughout the first half. Grayhound still mounted a comeback into the map, stringing five rounds together at the beginning of the half to bring the deficit to just three rounds.

Nevertheless, Hyun-Pyo "XigN" Lee managed to defuse the bomb in the 21st round to deny Christopher "dexter" Nong from clutching a 1v3, and, after that, MVP PK quickly wrapped things up, 16-9.

MVP PK did not lose a single map throughout the event

On Nuke, Grayhound's map pick, MVP PK got off to a flying start as they secured a dominant 7-0 lead as Counter-Terrorists. The Australians then finally found a footing in the game, but they still found themselves down by five rounds come the end of the half.

Having won the second pistol round, Grayhound seemed set to turn the game, and they even hit map point. But after winning the last two rounds of regulation, the South Koreans restored parity at 15-15, and, carrying their momentum into overtime, eventually ran out 19-17 winners to lift the CS:GO Asia Summit 2018 trophy.

To be honest, you need to have a very high IQ to understand the competitive CS:GO. The plot is extremely subtle and without a solid understanding of the physical properties of good storytelling, most of the metaphors will go unnoticed by the average viewer. There is also the nihilistic view of Shox, who is deftly woven in his characterization - his personal philosophy is heavily reliant on entering into bottles, for example. The fans understand these things; they have the intellectual ability to really appreciate the depth of these metaphors to realize that they are not just intelligent - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence, people who do not like the competitive csgo are real idiots - of course they would not appreciate, for example, the depth in the existential sentence of ropz "i feel thank you," clearly demonstrating that a story does not need arcs of character to be good and cohesive, just good metaphors :). I'm grinning right now imagining one of these shabby simplists scratching their head in confusion as Gabriel's "twofaced" Toledo genius unfolds on his monitor screen. What fools ... how I pity them. And yes, by the way, I have a Dosia tattoo. And no, you can not see it. It's only for the ladies' eyes. And even they need to demonstrate beforehand that they have an IQ with an absolute difference of at most 5 points from my (preferably down)

100%. Their teamwork is night and day compared to a year ago. xign and zeff can catch fire at any moment so you pair that up with players like solo/glow/hsk and you got a pretty formidable team all of a sudden. And if solo is calling for them he deserves some big credit... their late round calls are usually pretty good.

+1 .. part of the reason I like MVP is because I rooted for some of them in 1.6 way back when... I watch them because they demonstrate a real sense of teamwork which always makes the game more enjoyable as a spectator. Their dedication to the game both individually and team base has been showing off in 2018. I'd bet they're at or near the top in team flash assist kills based on %'s. They get so many.

Yeah man i agree with you. Solo was one of my favorite cs 1.6 players, its cool to see him come back and play well even if its just at a regional level. If one team from asia succeeds in the future international im sure it would be mvp. The Chinese teams have fuck all teamplay and try to just outaim people who are much better in that area.
