B.O.O.T-d[S] beat Flash to qualify for IEM Sydney

B.O.O.T-d[S] have sealed their place at IEM Sydney 2018 after defeating Flash 2-0 in Asian closed qualifier.

With MVP PK and TYLOO already through, the third-place decider kicked off on BOOT-d[S]'s map pick, Mirage, with the Singaporean squad winning their T-side pistol. Flash responded well in a force-buy and went up 3-1, but Alikhan "w1nt3r" Kopzhanov and co. did not back down and took ten rounds into the break.

Flash began the second half vigorously, stringing five rounds together to level up the score at 10-10. After that, however, BOOT-d[S] tightened up their defence and took the map without losing any more rounds.

ImpressioN and co. are through to IEM Sydney 2018

On Overpass, BOOT-d[S] picked up their CT pistol and followed that up with an anti-eco. In a third-round buy, YuanZhang "Attacker" Sheng clutched a 1v3, paving the way for his team to secure the lead.

The Singaporean team then picked up the pace and took a 9-4 lead, but then Flash kept themselves in it by bagging the final rounds of the half.

After switching to the Terrorist side, BOOT-d[S] further added to their lead after taking the pistol round, their third of the series, and following that up with both anti-ecos. Flash responded with a successful gun round, but the Singaporeans did not let the game slip away from them and quickly wrapped up the series.

What do you mean? They can evolve by qualifying properly, no one is stopping them from grinding. And they get paid for playing anyways, its their job. I also think its some kind of bullshit, that some of the best eu teams dont get to play there. Its marketing obviously, since event is held in Australia, but still... they should make some kind of open qualifiers for all na, asian , eu and oceanian teams.. gl to them anyways

To be honest, you need to have a very high IQ to understand the competitive CS:GO. The plot is extremely subtle and without a solid understanding of the physical properties of good storytelling, most of the metaphors will go unnoticed by the average viewer. There is also the nihilistic view of Shox, who is deftly woven in his characterization - his personal philosophy is heavily reliant on entering into bottles, for example. The fans understand these things; they have the intellectual ability to really appreciate the depth of these metaphors to realize that they are not just intelligent - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence, people who do not like the competitive csgo are real idiots - of course they would not appreciate, for example, the depth in the existential sentence of ropz "i feel thank you," clearly demonstrating that a story does not need arcs of character to be good and cohesive, just good metaphors :). I'm grinning right now imagining one of these shabby simplists scratching their head in confusion as Gabriel's "twofaced" Toledo genius unfolds on his monitor screen. What fools ... how I pity them. And yes, by the way, I have a Dosia tattoo. And no, you can not see it. It's only for the ladies' eyes. And even they need to demonstrate beforehand that they have an IQ with an absolute difference of at most 5 points from my (preferably down)

a qualifier for multiple regions would have to be offline, since you can't expect anyone to play on servers halfway around the world. but esl will never pay flights for all those teams just for a qualifier. this is not a major where valve pays for all that shit. so that's completely out of the question. especially apac, being the furthest away, will always need their own qualifier. giving 6 spots to apac has 2 reasons: one, as you said, marketing. it will be streamed at apac times, so the target audience lives in those timezones and you'd lose half the viewers without local teams. two, the idea the teams can only improve by playing against better teams - the grind, as you said. but the only way for apac teams to grind is to move to na/eu (like renegades) or get preallocated spots at an international event (for all the reasons above). now, you can debate how many spots it should be, but you can't deny the principle.
