groove: "k23, its the talent"

Recently attending KODE5 Spain with the Kazakhstani team k23, Konstantin "groove" Pikiner sits down with Arenazero, talking about the latest happenings with him and his teams.

The Russian ex-Pro currently act as team manager for Virtus.pro and coach for k23. He’s however lately been more active with k23, as they now reside in Moscow to practice harder. Below you can find a snip of interview.

What was before that their preparation?

"Since I started to coach this team, they’re going to Moscow one week before a big event, and this week they have been practicing online and we tried to improve our tactics, tried to find our game style. Since March this year they moved to Moscow. At the moment they have a private office at Moscow, because they have a really good sponsor, Arbalet, which for ten years they did a lot of events with Counter-Strike, Delta Force, Warcraft, Starcraft specially in Eastern Europe. They want to improve Kazakhstan’s game play in each discipline. So they [Arbalet] believe in these guys and now they play better and that is why since March 2009 they placed into Moscow, to our office with four rooms and five computers with 25 Mb connection about 50 ping in German servers."

This team is shining even years ago with good results at ESWC 2007, WCG 2005, and people saying “What team is this?” And they were preparing a lot worse than now… Is it just talent?

"Yeah, it’s the talent and I guess they love the game and they always try to do their best. Their working day by day…"

well, not actually .. some teams are relying more on teamplay and tactics, while some just rely on pure aim and individual skill .. ofc, it's hard to win if you cant shoot down the enemy .. but, in cs you dont have to rely on that but more on teamplay and tactics instead .. :)

I know, but it doesn't matter if you have a good tactic if you don't have shooting skill in the cs of today

sure, it's more aim-based these days, but you can still rely on teamplay, even if it isnt just as much as before. ;)

the importants thing is the teamplay dudes :) without teamplay you be a good team

Ofc teamplay is important, but my point is that you can't have only teamplay!:P you still have to be able to shoot some fat headshots.

are you stupid? they've been causing upsets and been placing good at some events .. they're not fnatic or mTw .. but they're however a very talented upcoming team which has already (as i mentioned before) caused some great upsets in various tournaments
