GODSENT take last invite to DreamHack Tours

The last invite to DreamHack Tours has been sent out by the organisers, with the recipient being GODSENT.

The eight teams that will play later this month, on May 19-21, in the French city of Tours, have been decided. Two of them, AGO and Torqued, made it through the European and North American qualifiers, while Gambit, North, HellRaisers, Imperial, Envy, and now GODSENT have been invited by DreamHack.

hampus & co. will play in France later this month

GODSENT's invite closes the list for the $100,000 DreamHack Open, which in classic DreamHack Open fashion will be played out starting with two GSL groups and will move on to a single elimination bracket with the four top teams playing to earn the lion's share of $50,000.

The full team list for DreamHack Tours is:

Kazakhstan Gambit Denmark North
Europe HellRaisers Europe Imperial
France Envy Sweden GODSENT
Poland AGO United States Torqued

I doubt they got the invite today. It's just that we're getting information about it now.

EZ 50k to be made... And more like a solid t2 tournament this year if you look at the teams invited...

Tiers aren't really defined so to each his own.. Anyway Gambit are top 10 atm so obviously that could be debated.. HR like 16th.. Godsent 19th North above HR at 14th even though it's debatable, I'd probably rate HR above them as far as intrinsic value is concerned.. AGO and nV just out of the top 20 at 21/22... So I'd say all the aforementionned team are t2 especially on LAN. They only one I'd potentially consider t1 would be Gambit but not atm because of their latest results ( bad for monthes prior to Marseille )

8 spots none of the top 8 and only 2 of the top 16 teams rn, whilst mostly top 24 teams so tier 3

that's your definition.. Most people go by 10-20-30.. but I have even seen people say Btw Gambit 10th/North14th/HR 16th so 3 "t2 teams" Btw by your definition SS would be tier 3 which they aren't, and their latest results ( major / WESG / ESL ) document that.. They dropped just because one awful performance in Marseille.. Also the ranking are very versatile, and subjective, so to me most of those team are more likely t2 than t3.. ( apart from torqued and imperial ).. Especially if you look at where they have placed for longer than since HLTV's latest rankings.

most people go by team who can win titles or reach semis consistently in big events as t1 teams. teams who reach semis's occasionally and usually qualify for playoffs are t2 team on big events. teams who have to qualify for on big events and go out in groups usually most of the times are t3 teams.they may reach playoffs rarely. ex. atm fnatic and navi are t1 teams, sk and g2 are t2 teams and north, heroic are t3 teams.

That's a really short term vision.. What time span do you use ? Basically only the "top 5" are t1 then... So obviously by your definition G2 are t3 since shox left because they barely came out of group with this iteration.. New SK t2.5 too... Your own examples don't fit your defition ( atm ) And a team like SS where do they rank ? One good event at major one very good at WESG then out in groups in Marseille...? So after all, it is completely subjective.

In my opinion they shouldn’t add Imperial, they lost in qualifiers. Why don’t invite G2, TyLoo or maybe VP

Can agree with Imperial. G2 most likely declined, but we will never know. TyLoo has Asia championship just before, tough travel schedule. VP has gotten more than enough chances and keeps failing, other teams deserves their spots more.

You are right, but DH employees made the invites very controversial. They should put 2 spots for the event in quals.

Well considering they won't take part they certainly won't.. But I agree they'd most probably wouldn't either... Also NBK is a smart dude, he probably doesn't want to take part to a LAN they are far from sure to perform well at, that could speed up their demise ... ( Ocelote ( and the fans ) thinking " they can't even beat t2 teams, let's kick them and take shox's team ")
