North invited to DreamHack Open Summer

North are the first confirmed invitee for DreamHack Open Summer, the tournament's organisation has announced.

North joins Imperial and Complexity, the two teams that made it through the European and North American qualifiers, in the team list of the event.

Mathias "⁠MSL⁠" Lauridsen's men, who currently sit at #14 in our rankings, have been struggling for results as of late, failing to qualify for a series of events such as the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals or ESL One Belo Horizonte.

MSL's North will be looking to improve their latest achievements

The Danes, who are set to compete at DreamHack Open Tours this weekend, have also failed to impress at their latest LAN events, with a second-place finish at Bets.net Masters being their best result in the last three months.

DreamHack Open Summer will be held in Jönköping, Sweden, on June 16-18, with eight teams battling it out for a share of the $100,000 prize-pool. The team list for the tournament currently looks as follows:

Is this a joke? Before people start comparing this to inviting extra APAC teams to Sydney, Dreamhack open summer is already an established, amazing event, which brings people from all over the world to enjoy TOP TIER Counter-Strike. It is arguably the only event, that can bring 10,000+ people without it being a Valve Major. There are already organised groups of Polish, French, etc. fans coming every year. YOU DON'T NEED A DANISH TEAM AT ALL. Especially not one as average as NORTH. Just cheer for ASTRALIS.
