mousesports eliminate NRG in two maps
mousesports took it all the way down to the wire on Cache, 16-14, before closing out the series on their pick, Nuke, to stay alive in Dallas.
The first map, Cache, started out going the way of MOUZ, who were able to take the pistol round after a successful defence. With the gun advantage, NRG was able to win two in a row to tie it up, but MOUZ then went on a six-round streak including a big triple by Chris "chrisJ" de Jong with the AWP with 7-2 on the board. The European team then gave up three more rounds, but managed to go into the half with a hefty 10-5 lead.
The second pistol round went the way of NRG, on the CT side, which they were then able to follow up to bring the score back to 8-10 after winning both anti-ecos. The North American team had been pushed to the limit both times, though, as MOUZ planted both times and took away several of NRG’s weapons.

Having won two more rounds, and with 10-10 on the board, NRG started to have a solid economic advantage as well as control of the economy, with Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte spearheading his team’s efforts. Right then, MOUZ won an upgraded pistol buy, but it wasn’t enough to shift the momentum as Damian "daps" Steele & co. won the following two rounds, resetting the European team. A crucial 2vs2 afterplant was won by Martin "STYKO" Styk, who clutched against Jacob "FugLy" Medina and Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov to keep it close at 12-13. That crucial round turned the balance of the map, with MOUZ making it to match point, 15-13. NRG were then able to bring it to 14, but the Europeans held on in classic MOUZ fashion to take it in the last round.
The second map started with MOUZ on the offensive, making it down to the lower bombsite quickly. After planting the bomb, it looked like the European side would take the round, but NRG was able to win it as Ethan "Ethan" Arnold stuck a plant that the MOUZ players didn’t contest. NRG were then able to deny MOUZ several forcebuys, taking a 4-0 lead. NRG gave a couple rounds up, but were firmly in control early in the half getting ahead 8-3.
The half, which seemed to go the way of the North American team, quickly became more even as strong showings by Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný and Robin "ropz" Kool, both with more than 100 ADR at the time, brought it back to a fairly even 7-8. On the CT side, MOUZ put up a wall early on, taking the pistol round and shutting down their opposition from the get-go. NRG was about to take the first gun round, but a huge triple from chrisJ with the deagle followed up by a double from ropz stopped NRG in their tracks. From there on out MOUZ dominated the map to close it out 16-10.
