Astralis march on in Dallas after beating SK
Astralis are through to Group B's upper bracket final at the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals after defeating SK Gaming on just two maps.
The final Group B match of the day saw two heavyweights go head-to-head in pursuit of a spot in the upper bracket final and a guaranteed playoff spot. The series began on Inferno, where Astralis got out to a 3-0 lead after overturning a 3v5 situation in the pistol round.
Astralis went on to win the first full gun round, and then Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander played the hero as he pulled off a quad-kill, also denying Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo the chance to clutch the round for SK, who were struggled to get into the game. The Brazilians eventually managed to break through the Astralis defence, but the rounds that they won were immediately countered by the Danish players, with the half ending with a lopsided 13-2 scoreline.
Now playing on the Terrorist side, Astralis piled even more misery on SK's players by taking the pistol round on the back of three entry frags from Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen on the B site. It looked like the game would soon come to a close, but Jake "Stewie2K" Yip had different plans has he single-handedly rescued SK with three quick Desert Eagle kills inside B.
SK kept their defence very tight after that and strung multiple rounds together, but their resistance would be finally broken in the 26th round, in which Emil "Magisk" Reif opened things up with three kills to put Astralis on map point, with the Danes following that up with one more round to take the lead in the series.

The Brazilian team looked a livelier side on the second map, Overpass, despite losing the opening round of the game. SK were able to hit back on a very shoddy buy and rallied to a 5-1 lead, but the rest of the half was all about Astralis' impressive offence as the Danes took control of proceedings and took a three-round lead into the second half.
dupreeh kicked Astralis further into the lead with a quad-kill in a messy pistol round. That was the start of another great run from the Danish side, which only ended in the 21st round, when Fernando "fer" Alvarenga clutched a 1v2 situation to keep their opponents off match point.
SK would use that newly-found momentum to make a slight climb back into the game, but there was no stopping Astralis, who will now take on Liquid for the top spot in Group B, while the Brazilians will fight for survival in Dallas against Renegades.
