In our next interview from Dallas, Chris "chrisJ" de Jong discussed mousesports' top-six placing at the ESL Pro League Finals and the team's decline at the last three tournaments.

MOUZ added another quarter-finals exit to their name at ESL Pro League Finals, losing to Liquid in the first playoffs stage after a close Mirage and a blowout on Dust2.

We caught up with the team's in-game leader, Chris "⁠chrisJ⁠" de Jong, to get his thoughts on the team's issues with Mirage at the Dallas event, as well as the team's recent decline.

First step to be better again would be to drop finally STYKO. He cant hold a freaking bomb site on your best map. Its was hilarious when teams abused that.

Styko was not the problem. The problem was that ropz was super underperforming just like Guardian in the match rn

Styko is the player mouz needs, without him they would fall apart. Roster changes are definitely not the solution rn, they just need to take a look at what they did when they were succesfull, and see if they can reimplement that into their gameplay today.

STYKO does the dirty work that nobody else wants to do just like what TACO did when he played with SK. they dont care about stats. they do their best to win no matter what it takes even if they have to let themselfs get baited to give the other teammate the opportunity to trade the frag and let them live on for the rest of the round

Chill, tournaments that you won you didn't play the best team that would have countered you in every role. You got couple of lucky draws and you won. That's it.

The truth that in V4 they played dead virtus pro in the final and almost lost map 3 16-14. Or maybe starseries where they had to play G2 which were in terrible form and liquid in semis where they had only 2nd tournament with NAF. Guess what they almost lost 2-0 in the finals but thanks to zeus they managed to barely win on their map pick. Not conving at all and didn't even play best teams to win. Flukes Btw their best tournament that they played was by far ECS S4. They actually played the best team in the tournament and were close to winning it.

I think the problem is that mousesports don't have anyone putting up high ADR currently. they really need to focus on not getting traded after each of their kills and living longer in general.
