TyLoo stun Na`Vi, AGO overcome Virtus.pro

TYLOO upset Natus Vincere 2-0 (Mirage 19-16, Overpass 16-12), while AGO came out on top of the Polish derby with a 2-0 victory (Train 19-17, Inferno 16-13) over Virtus.pro in Kiev.

The second round of matches in Kiev saw Natus Vincere take on TYLOO, who have Yue "⁠AE⁠" Yu standing in for the injured Ke "⁠captainMo⁠" Liu at the tournament.

The series began on Mirage, where Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev kicked things off with a 1v2 clutch in the pistol round as Na`Vi quickly went up 3-0. TYLOO soon equalized things, with Hansel "⁠BnTeT⁠" Ferdinand clutching a 1v3 along the way, and the half continued to go back and forth in threes as Natus Vincere switched over to Counter-Terrorists at 9-6.

TYLOO made it even at 9-9 on the back of a pistol round victory and a 1v5 triumph from HaoWen "⁠somebody⁠" Xu in the following anti-eco. The two teams started trading rounds, with Na`Vi clinching map point at 15-12, but TYLOO pulled through to overtime, where they finished things off at 19-16 to claim a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three.

Overpass, the choice of Natus Vincere, started poorly for the Ukrainian-Russian side, who quickly found themselves down 1-7 on the Terrorist side. Clinching four out of the remaining seven rounds, they gave themselves a chance on the second map, but TYLOO extended their advantage after winning the second pistol round as well.

Much like on the first map, the two teams went back and forth from there on, which allowed the Chinese side to clinch match point at 15-9 and finish off the series despite Natus Vincere's efforts at 16-12.

In the other match, Virtus.pro and AGO locked horns in the Polish derby, which started on Train, the former team's pick. Although the teams went even at the beginning, as VP grabbed the pistol and Damian "⁠Furlan⁠" Kislowski & co. prevailed in the first gunrounds, Filip "⁠NEO⁠" Kubski's team switched over to the CT side with a comfortable 9-6 lead.

Virtus.pro continued their crusade with five rounds in a row in the second half, reaching their 14th round, but there was still life left in their rivals, who won eight out of the next nine rounds to take the first map to overtime. There, AGO completed the comeback with two rounds on each side for a 19-17 victory.

Inferno saw AGO establish dominance from the get-go, grabbing an 8-1 lead on the defense to put Virtus.pro on the back foot. The remaining six rounds were split evenly, as Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski's side went over to the Counter-Terrorist side with only four rounds to their name, but a pistol round victory lowered their deficit to four rounds.

The first gunround went the way of AGO, which allowed them to reach their 13th round, but Virtus.pro went on a five-round streak to make it 13-12. The next two rounds were exchanged, which forced AGO on a shoddy buy, but they still made it work and finished off the series at 16-13, 2-0.
