fnatic join ESL One New York team list

fnatic have been invited to compete at ESL One New York 2018, the event's organisers have announced.

The IEM Katowice champions, currently ranked 6th in the world, are the fourth team confirmed for the event, joining FaZe, Liquid and MOUZ, who were previously unveiled by ESL.

fnatic recently made headlines after replacing Jonas "⁠Lekr0⁠" Olofsson with Richard "⁠Xizt⁠" Landström in the starting line-up, with the former NiP member due to make his debut for the team later this week, at the ECS Season 5 Finals.

The Swedish side will return to New York after skipping last year's event, which was won by FaZe. In 2016, fnatic went out in the Swiss stage, with coach Jimmy "⁠Jumpy⁠" Berndtsson being the only remaining member from that team.

ESL One New York will run from September 26-30 at the Barclays Center and will have $250,000 on the line. There are now just two invites to be announced as the remaining spots in this eight-team tournament will be determined by online qualifiers, which have not yet been announced.
