IEM Shanghai announced with $250,000 prize pool
ESL has announced that it will host an Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) event in Shanghai with a $250,000 prize fund.
The event will be held from August 1-6 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center as part of the China Digital Entertainment ChinaJoy Expo and Conference, the largest gaming and digital festival exhibition held in China and Asia.
TYLOO, NRG and HellRaisers headline the five-team invite list for the competition, which will begin with a double-elimination group stage, followed by a single-elimination bracket. The remaining three sides will be determined by online qualifiers for teams from China, Asia and Australia/New Zealand.

This will be the fifth IEM event hosted by ESL in Shanghai, and Michal "Carmac" Blicharz, Vice President of Pro Gaming at ESL, expects it to be "another step towards building up CS:GO as a truly global esports title."
"The passion behind the fans and players will make for an amazing esports experience that ESL looks to create, and we aim to make this event unforgettable," he added.
Below you can find the complete invite list for the Chinese event:
