s1mple, electronic spearhead Na`Vi's comeback vs. NiP

Natus Vincere are through to the semi-finals at the CS:GO Asia Championships after beating Ninjas in Pyjamas 2-1 in Group A's winners' match.

The battle for the first spot in the playoffs featured two European teams, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Natus Vincere, fresh off 2-0 victories over VG.Flash and Envy, respectively. Riding the wave after winning StarSeries, Na`Vi entered the match as favourites, but they would soon realise that they were in for a very tough match.

It all began on Overpass, Ninjas in Pyjamas's map choice. After losing the pistol round and the subsequent ecos, Na`Vi were able to hit back immediately and bring the deficit to a minimum with an ace from Denis "electroNic" Sharipov, but the Swedes would not let their lead slip. Once they had their economy back in order, the Ninjas ran all over the Na`Vi defence, closing out the half with a shocking 12-3 lead.

The second half followed the same pattern as the first, with Natus Vincere hitting back with guns after losing the pistol round. The Ukrainian team put together a small run of rounds, but Ninjas in Pyjamas then hit map point with a 2v2 retake before denying Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev a heroic 1v4 clutch.

Na`Vi's big guns were on fire against NiP

Natus Vincere came into Mirage, the second map of the series, a much more determined side and took control of proceedings right from the get-go. The Ukrainian side shut down any chances of Ninjas in Pyjamas stringing rounds together or building up an economy, and went into the break up by nine rounds.

Ninjas in Pyjamas kept themselves in the game after taking the pistol round, but they were caught off-guard by a weak buy from Na`Vi in the third round. Things were starting to look grim for the Ninjas, but Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg rescued the team with a 1v2 clutch.

That marked the beginning of a great run from the Swedes. Every time that it looked the Ninjas were about to lose their grip on the game, their ability to clutch 1v2 situations kept themselves in it. Ninjas in Pyjamas would be able to cut the gap to just two rounds, but one final push from Na`Vi earned them the map.

NiP's newest recruit impressed in the series

It all came down to Train, where Ninjas in Pyjamas came out the brighter of the two sides, winning three of the first four rounds of the map. Natus Vincere did not let that get to them, however, and went on a seven-round streak to put the Ninjas at risk of getting blown out.

A 1v2 clutch from Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund put a stop to Na`Vi's winning streak, but the Ukrainians hit back immediately to regain control of the economy, with a 1v3 clutch from s1mple in the final round of the half earning his team their 11th round.

Ninjas in Pyjamas came from the break determined to turn things around and won the pistol round with a fast A execution. However, they were caught off-guard in the following round as s1mple pulled off a quad-kill with a Scout. A quad-kill from Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson shortly afterwards still breathed some life into Ninjas in Pyjamas, but it was only a matter of time before Na`Vi put the game to bed.

He is 31 of course he will have 300 ms reaction time. Awful spraying? His spray is not as good as it used to be but saying it is awful is just bs. No confidence? He usually has at least 3 clutches (1v2 or more) per game

Lekr0 is a god. Way better than drakes. Definitely a good pick up to add some firepower. Mistake to give him up by fnatic. I don’t think they have enough talent anymore. Flusha and krimz can’t carry golden and Xizt

He is actually not. He led Fnatic to a win at Katowice against Faze. And at Wesg yes against space soldiers but still he is a good IGL especially in the swedish scene where the only real IGLs are xizt and pronax and now golden. But I respect your opinion.

dude? led? flusha played on a god level in the finals. krimz played well throughout. golden did nth. he even cost them so many rounds. it wasnt even his strats or calls they won they won based on individual firepower with their players winning their duels. and lekr0 won 70% entry duels. stop overrating that piece of shit IGL. look what happened to their t side after WESG. atrocious cause their igl sux

ECS has all teams, just that some are too bad to qualify for LAN, shitty logic. As for Belo, faze and Mouz has standins. And the tournament has ghost and NTC. It is at best a tier 2 event.

Not when the two best play with standins and the other 4 teams are average or terrible. In general I have a hard time calling any 8 team event a real tier 1. They usually have a few good team but always fill out with some local shit teams. The 16 team tournaments have both the great top teams and the great tier two teams that will beat the top if they don’t play good. In these tournaments it’s basically free semis no matter how crappy the top teams play.

I think it’s more the on the bottom side with two tier 4 teams giving free wins, basically this tournament starts at semis which is bullshit for top tier event. But as I said, I think 8 team tournaments have a hard time to claim tier 1 for the reasons I stated, unless maybe all 8 teams are in the top 10.

Bad move to replace Draken and not Rez. NIP needed the explosiveness that Draken could bring, not just some mediocore, passive player in Rez. Good move to bring in Lekro, but I dont see this lineup being anything but tier 2. With draken, they might be able to find the synergy, and now they have no agressive player other that G_R + Dennis (who now has to focus on IGL). Also, they have no real awper xD glhf NiP
