EnVyUs eliminate VG.Flash; to CS:GO Asia Championships quarter-finals

Envy have eliminated VG.Flash from the CS:GO Asia Championships 2018 with a 2-0 victory (16-10 on Inferno and 16-11 on Cache)

The last series of day one in China began on Inferno, Envy' map pick, with the French squad securing a quick 3-0 lead after winning their Terrorist pistol. VG.Flash responded well, stringing three rounds together to level up the score.

Envy then got back to winning ways with another three-round streak. The Chinese team nearly restored parity thanks to YuanZhang "⁠Attacker⁠" Sheng and YuLun "⁠Summer⁠" Cai stepping up to the plate – the former denied a 1v4 clutch from Christophe "⁠SIXER⁠" Xia while the latter found an AWP quad-kill – but then Fabien "⁠kioShiMa⁠" Fiey clutched a 1v2 for his team, who would lose just one more round to go up 9-6 by half-time.

Now playing as Terrorists, VG.Flash picked up the pistol and the subsequent anti-ecos. The Frenchmen were simply too hot for the Asian team to handle, however, and lost a single round before closing out the map, 16-10, to take the lead in the series.

kioShiMa led the way for EnVyUs

Next up was Cache, the map picked by VG.Flash, who started things off on the right foot by bagging a 5-0 lead as Terrorists. Envy responded with their first round thanks to a double and a triple-kill from Ali "⁠hAdji⁠" Haïnouss and kioShiMa, respectively, but they could not follow that up.

Down 1-7, that was when Adil "⁠ScreaM⁠" Benrlitom and co. tightened up their defence, which prompted them to bring the deficit to a sole round before switching sides. The French squad came from half-time eager to turn things around, and it all started with kioShiMa equalizing things off with a 1v3 clutch.

From that moment, Envy, except for a single round, kept breaking through their opponents' defence to hit 14 rounds. VG.Flash still tried to halt the Frenchmen by winning two of the next three rounds, but without success as EnVyUs went on to put the last nail in the coffin, 16-11.

ScreaM and kio are the only players that can compete on the highest level. NBK and apEX are benched. If those 4 team up, they will only need a sniper. EnVyUs, do at least something right in your CS:GO life, either pick 3 good players or disband.

the problem with Chinese CS is that they can have a thousand IGLs and another thousand coaches, but nobody will listen anyway because their metagame is so self-centered. it's kind of sad how China has a talent pool possibly millions of players wide, but their tactical apex is TyLoo who have recently learned to bait and switch

yeah, it would be better to just sell or loan the players to US or EU mixteams, and bring them back when they've learned their lesson.

ScreaM has never played with apEX before, so it will be really interesting to see how that deadly entry duo can play. Yeah, your lineup looks may be even better than new G2, at least much more balanced. It's sad that it won't happen.

Looking at how G2 improved with NBK at least online (they were all experienced players, so they would definitely convert that to offline without any doubts) after just 2 months, I do believe he actually can be a decent enough IGL, just surround him with good players and it will be at least the level of mousesports which is cool for currently tier3 EnVyUs. But NBK said he would join an international team, so that improved nV lineup won't happen.

-mixwell +ZywOo I feel like mixwell is such a personality type that doesn't like how apEX behaves - yells and basically behaves like a monkey, while mixwell is a really calm guy that understands French but doesn't speak it well. NBK is the only guy with at least some calling experience and also smart enough to analyze what's happening on the server. If he doesn't join nV just to not play with ScreaM then it's really stupid. Your version of the lineup misses an IGL and a sniper if it's hadji, I wonder why you put it like zywoo/hadji - they are completely different.

give ScreaM and kio a proper lineup for god's sake. xms and sixer are pure trash, I have no idea how they lasted on the original roster for so long. It's very obvious they are t3 players at best. kio ScreaM ApeX NBK lvl10 faceit sniper

You’ve got to consider that XMS hasn’t played CS:GO much recently. This game, I’ve seen sixer hitting good shots. Maybe it’s not relevant, but he was at least okay on this match. It’s a pure mix, so individualities will obviously come out on top, like Scream and kio.

ex6 hasnt played official matches in a way longer time and he does better then sixer and xms and he is an igl. so him not playing for maybe 1 or 2 months doesnt mean anything. he just needs to warmup better. also he peeks for no reason sometimes and dies.

XMS hasn’t played an official match since a good 5 months. Plus, it’s shameful but he said himself he quit playing CS:GO, simply, for quite a good time (3 months or smth, he said it in a recent stream), because he tried hard Fortnite. Ofc he’s the only one to blame in this case but he just didn’t play in a while, which explains he does need to get back on his feet.

After 2 roster changed,VGFG still cant play against high level team.I dont know why because this team combine most talented player in China.Summer and Attacker came from formal TYLOO and loveyy,freeman and zhoking came from VG.This team Isn't weak,but seldom impressed. Now this team haven't a great Awper.Summer used to play awp in tyloo but he is a rifler.zhoking and loveyy is unstable and always do some ridiculous move. -Loveyy -Zhoking +Awper +Better Rifler

zhoking is for sure was not the best available player on original VG lineup (savage might be inconsistant but at least he's legendary player with tons of expirience), but they did pick up loveyy for 3rd time in a row lol ffs, this guy jsut doesnt put any effort, always solo goes for saving enemies, pushing site while soloing it, etc; and the worst - he's always losing 1v1 duels while doing it.. i am glad to see freeman back in action tho
