EnVyUs to release all players - Report

EnVyUs are about to release both the main team and the academy roster, including the substitutes, according to a report by FlickShot.fr.

Envy's main team have gone through several official changes this year, including the replacement of Alexandre "⁠xms⁠" Forté and Christophe "⁠SIXER⁠" Xia by Fabien "⁠kioShiMa⁠" Fiey and Ali "⁠hAdji⁠" Haïnouss, as well as the departure of coach Damien "⁠maLeK⁠" Marcel.

Recently, the team also quietly parted ways with Vincent "⁠Happy⁠" Schopenhauer and Cédric "⁠RpK⁠" Guipouy, who missed the CS:GO Asia Championships last week, with SIXER and xms returning to the team for the event.

11 players are about to be released from EnVyUs

The North American organization has also had an academy team under its wings since April 2017, although Lambert "⁠Lambert⁠" Prigent & co. have been unable to impress on the international level, as well, despite keeping the same four-man core for over a year.

Both teams, including the players supposedly sitting on the bench, RpK and Happy, are soon to be released, FlickShot.fr's report says, with the organization's future in CS:GO left uncertain.

In their three-and-a-half years in CS:GO, various versions of EnVyUs' main French team have garnered several prestigious trophies, including a Major win at DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca in 2015, which cemented the team's No. 1 spot in the rankings at the time.

If the move does happen, the following 11 players will become free agents:

i think that was happy holding him back. just look at the previous tournament they played. he was the second best player and he never had a rating below 1.0. that just shows hoe good he is when he had the freedom to play. thats why he played really good and consistent on the old g2 with shox. i just hope he gets a good team with an igl that gives him the freedom he needs just like shox, kio and maybe karrigan.

Yeah maybe (i'm not sure, because they had less than 3 months on G2, with NBK taking the IGL role, and kenny doubting the project quite a bit and being disappointing, so not the best way for mixwell to succeed, still believe in him though). If mixwell wants to go inter (or french players of that new team don't want to play with him) and NBK wants to go inter as well, then kio has to try to be the IGL and RpK can be the 5th player.
