Windigo bench SPELLAN

Teodor "⁠SPELLAN⁠" Nikolov has been benched from Windigo and placed on the transfer list, the organization has announced on Twitter.

According to the announcement, the move comes as a result of Windigo's "inconsistent performance" and a change of atmosphere during practice.

The organization will be accepting offers for the team's former in-game leader, who will focus on streaming in the meantime and stand in for Windigo if needed.

The Bulgarians have, however, succeeded in various competitions as of late, as they're currently sitting in second place of the Esports Balkan League Season 2 with a 7-1-1 record and qualified for ZOTAC Cup Masters Europe Finals.

While Viktor "⁠v1c7oR⁠" Dyankov will take over in-game leadership, Windigo will field Simeon "⁠dream3r⁠" Ganev at the aforementioned tournament, which is set to take place on June 22-24 in Milan, Italy, with teams such as Gambit, Imperial, and Não Tem Como in attendance.

"We've decided to change the roles in the team and the in-game leader because of the resent inconsistent performance. The squad needs to progress before the EPL." Windigo CEO, Maksym Bednarskyi, said in a statement.

"We're thankful to Teo for everything he's done for the team's development. He's proven to be an excellent strategist and versatile player, but we need to change something as the atmosphere during practice has changed recently.

"SPELLAN will stream and, if needed, will stand-in in official matches. We're accepting offers regarding his buy-out according to the agreement at [email protected]"

Windigo are now down to the following four players:
