Cloud9 confirm tarik exit

Cloud9 and Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik have gone their separate ways, the North American organisation have announced.

On Twitter and in a video posted on Youtube, Cloud9 thanked tarik for his time with the organisation but made no mention of the 22-year-old's destination.

The announcement comes amidst reports that tarik is heading to MIBR to join compatriot and ex-Cloud9 teammate Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip, replacing Ricardo "⁠boltz⁠" Prass in the line-up.

tarik has been on Cloud9's books since August 2017, when he was signed from OpTic together with William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba.

tarik is on his way out of Cloud9

He departs the organisation roughly six months after leading the team to an unprecedented victory at the ELEAGUE Major, a run that saw him named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the competition.

This leaves Cloud9 with a three-man active roster as Pujan "⁠FNS⁠" Mehta remains transfer listed by the organisation.

Playing with cromen was something new for us because now we have rain and him who kind of have a similar role, they run first and they shoot, and what we need is an experienced player who is going to play the role we really need, that is going to play it smart, basically kind of a lurk role, but who is also able to adapt to any situation we are in. - Niko They literally play the loosest style of CS in the entire pro scene almost any skilled player willing to adapt would work.

Olof is very far from a true support like xyp or boltz. Obviously xizt played a support role as an IGL that's basically what you do and with a stand in and karrigans leading style you want to make everybody feel as comfortable as possible quickly. Also the standins had very little to do with their tournament success. Niko and guardian stepped up huge during their Sydney and Belo horizonte runs. Not saying they didnt do their job but almost any player can fit into this system as ive been stressing.

Lies, Legit i think the Asia minor (THIS TIME AROUND) is harder than the NA minor, Renegades, Tyloo and Flash are better overall than NRG, Rouge and fucking Complexity, ''MUCH'' ??? Renegades have made playoffs more times this year, NRG got lucky once, Calm down mate, Only nahtE has more potential probably, Wouldn't say Cerq > Nifty, He is more consistent but Nifty has a higher skill ceiling, Also doubt Cerq will be in NA much longer, Especially if NRG don't start getting to majors xD Renegades just need that little bit more fire power IMO, Jks is already one of the best support players in the world and Jkaem is finding his 2015 form again, Nifty and AZR are inconsistent at times but they have insanely high skill ceilings, Just add Autimatic to that and you EASILY have a top 5-10 team

NRG is already top 5-10 without tim, are younger and have a better IGL. and you're completely wrong about the difficulty of the qualifer NA is much harder and besides those 3 the rest of Asia is garbage. Flash isnt that strong and is weaker than all 3 of those NA teams. You heavily underrate Col they have young talent mixed with 2 experienced players and a good IGL. Cerq will stay in Na just on a new team and that team will likely become the best team NA. Cerq is just overall better than Nifty his peak might be slightly lower but reaching your potential in 80% of your games compared to Niftys what 10%? Outweighs any peak advantage that Nifty could have.

Cold will play the supportive star/clutch role (last in) as always. I imagine who entried will be based on the default but stew will probably do a lot of it on set pieces. Fer I think will go back to his aggressive lurk style he had when he was with fnx, very confident with a lot of ct pushes. Tarik will fill the gaps I dont think hell get to IGL I just think fallen has too much experience with it but who knows maybe they let tarik IGL and fallen can return to form as pure awper otherwise I think tarik just fills the gaps as a support.

I was like sick when i first heard this news. Then I remembered that C9 got the biggest buyout in history for Stewie2k. I wouldn't be surprised if IMT/MIBR has paid nearly a million dollars for two just above average players. From C9's perspective they still have their number one star. A decent anchor/good entry fragger and an aging AWP. Take half that million and put it in the bank. NRG fucked up their chance at a major after losing to the same teams they dominated all year around all year. C9 Ethan needs to happen. Like now. C9 Cerq should happen after the major. All of a sudden you have a very good chance at being a top 5 team again (i'm talking pre boston major type of team) with major upset potential. What they need to consider is what to do with the IGL position. They've just gotten a fuck ton of money injected into the org just through buyouts. I'm a C9 fan and it sucks to see some of my favorite players leave but there's oppurtunity here without a doubt. Oh bonus clip. The IGL's job is not to frag in the first place, but to lead his team to victory. Looking how Ex6 did it yesterday against some T3 team on his best map, I wouldn't say he was and would be any good at it. shox was just an improved version of Ex6 after they had kicked him, shox brought something that Ex6 could not, namely looser style that benefitted those who loved to be set free and play like they felt (shox & ScreaM, then kennyS & apEX). And you cannot say that with Ex6 they're coming back to that strict shit, because he kind of changed in that respect. And if you think that NBK = shox in terms of leading and style - think again. NBK just didn't get the chance, 2 lans and they benched him just because Ocelote wanted to have more viewers.

I’ve never mentioned NBK. But NBK isnt a good IGL. He has tried during shox’ tenure aswell. Also i hope NBK will focus on a role more suited to his own playstyle. He’s really good imo. shox is just lazy, in that interview he says he couldn't rewatch demos and stuff, it's his style: "counter-strike is played with the heart, not with the mind" (c) the quote of shox from R.Lewis, so why to watch any demos if you "feel" things xD And I'm not rating NBK very high as an IGL, I'm just saying he has gotten no real chance to prove himself, it was DH Marseille, IEM and bye fucking bye, I'm sure it's not fair. And whatever chemistry they think they have - it by itself never wins tournaments, the teamplay and efficient strats (not necessarily complicated, but fitting for your players to defeat their enemies) win you tournaments.

I didnt watch yesterdays match but i looked at the result from hltv. Yes, his role isn't to frag but what can he do if kenny and co. aren't hitting their shots and he is. Shox shouldn't be IGL, he is just too good of a fragger, even tho he isn't showing it right now because of the wrist injury and NBK isn't capable of leading. Ex6 is the only viable IGL in France with Happy, who is a bit outdated in his style.

It's the Ex6 job to tell his guys what to do, if he fails to read the game and counter-strat his opponent - his mates obviously can't get enough frags, because they don't know how to deal with their enemies. I don't think this G2 can ever win any big event and overcome Astralis, they have a shaky IGL and no enough firepower, it's enough for shitpieces like Luminosity, but it's not enough for somebody like Astralis.

Have you seen pgl krakow? kNg was a beast. I don't know if it will work out, but i think NTC would have a lot of potential. The team has no strats, bit1 is washed up and he doesn't frag. Boltz was tempo storm igl and he is way better than bit1. Don't you think?

c9 got good core now. rush and autimatic are definitely top players. styko could be a great support player but they best need a duo with a new igl. if you're gonna get fns + a new random player it will be in spite of chemistry (probably). they can test a new fpl monster like stewie but it will always be a certain risk. i'd consider either hampus and twist but that's pretty much a longshot since twist got bad mentality. or more probably nbk and mixwell. mixwell would probably fit in C9 very well because of his puggy playstyle and nbk he has got the winner mentality C9 really needs. but the buyout of NBK is probably pretty high. also rush and mixwell know eachother. imo it's a very logical choice to try out mixwell and bring in the wealth of experience that nbk brings.

They absolutely should have. The problem with Faze has always been an inability to close out lesser opponents. Remember them getting beaten around by SK in late 17? That doesn't mean they "deserved" it though. You play to win. They lost. Faze down. If anyone ever wonders why I dislike Faze type in Faze banks into youtube and see what their owner is actually like. Dumpster fire would be a good way to describe him.

It's hilarious people are saying lol NA CS. All news like this means is that foreign teams are now interested in NA players. That makes NA more relevant then ever. I thought Euros were really smart? I'm constantly hearing about how dumb Americans are and all I see are Europeans making dumb comments. Welcome to the age of international squads. I think it's sad to see happen on one hand but it's happened in pretty much every other esport to one degree or another. It was fun cheering for teams based on nationality for sure but it was never going to last if CS was going to continue growing. Glad NA got a full American squad major win before it died. Won't forget late 2017/early 2018 C9. Wasn't an era but there was some great tournament finishes. A fucking major. And a likable squad. And Skadoodle crying on stage. He'll probably never be world class or even average again but he was our hero through it all. From beating SK in Brazil with Nothing and Shroud to the major he's been the constant. Now go retire and get fat and happy buddy. It's time to re-make this team around Auti and Rush.

We've gotten to the point where unless you are Astralis or Faze there's a bunch of NA players any European would salivate to get. NAF, Elige, Autimatic, Twistzz, Ethan etc You don't think a Fnatic or NiP would take one of these players in a heart beat? You crazy boy.

Skadoodle will undoubtedly retire after the major IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if Golden does end up their IGL. Wouldn't be surprised if one or more of the three 18 year olds on NRG are offered contracts. Major or not they've proven they are good talent and there's not much floating around out there without a huge buyout clause attached.

I tend to doubt that. Does not seem to be the teams philosophy and their is a lot of young talent in T2 orgs they could go after. Sort of what C9 is known for. They picked Stewie out of Rank S. They picked Autimatic off the scrap heap and he's one of the best players in the world now. You could be right though. We are in a international era of sorts.

TBH Autimatic is over rated af sure he has good stats but it doesnt nothing to influence C9's chance of winning so it's just meaningless. Plays same style as twistzz (another player who's over rated) pure baiter and is a decent clutcher. BTW I can't wait to see how this team does with Golden, Golden was able to bring a lot of Fnatic's players out of their slump and utilize them in a way we really haven't seen from Fnatic before, he has good strats, he's a good IGL but his individual skill is not that great, styko is a pure support player who is also decent at clutching and now C9 really have the roles set to have a good team so it's exciting.

C9 will need another above average rifler if they want to be a top ten team. Maybe Golden is the answer at IGL but I don't see a world where Styko and Golden make this team work. Unless you replace Ska with a really good AWP anyway. I disagree about Autimatic. Stats are just numbers and they tend not to lie. They point to him being a top 20 player in the world right now.

Top 10? Let's focus on them being relevant again first, that is what MiBR is doing they finally got out of groups at Cologne one step at a time. C9 need time but imo they have the roles stable, awp, lurker, support, igl and kind of bitch role for Rush just does whatever is needed not really good at anything it could work if they give it some time and practice.

I would think taco seeing how liquid already have elige. Taco + Zews though prob have good chemistry so it wont happen. If Olof coming back doesnt work out for Faze though I would love to see Auti find a home there where he can shine as the lurker.
