Renegades beat TyLoo to win Asia Minor

Renegades have been crowned champions of the FACEIT Major Asia Minor after defeating TYLOO 2-0 (16-12 on Train, 16-8 on Inferno).

The title decider kicked off on Train, Renegades' map pick, with Ke "captainMo" Liu and HaoWen "somebody" Xu finding a double and a triple-kill, respectively, to win the CT pistol for their team. After building up their economy, Renegades won the first gun round, which they followed up with another thanks to a 1v2 clutch from Noah "Nifty" Francis.

The Australian side went on to take the lead at 5-3, but TYLOO then equalized the score with two successful rounds, the first of which on the back of an ace from Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand. Both teams then won two rounds each, and Renegades picked up the 15th round to lead 8-7 by half-time.

In the second half, Renegades further added to their lead, 11-8, despite losing an anti-eco in the process. TYLOO responded well, losing a single round of the next five to level up the score, but then the Australian squad strung four rounds together fairly easily, taking the lead in the series with a 16-12 scoreline.

Renegades win the Asia Minor for the third time in a row

Inferno, TYLOO's pick, was the map that followed, and it began with Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad clutching an impressive 1v3 post-plant situation. In a third-round buy, TYLOO could not get through their opponents' defence, who then saw Justin "jks" Savage come up huge with back-to-back quad-kills to lead his team to a 5-0 score.

In the seventh round, TYLOO were finally able to win their first round of the map with BnTeT and Hui "DD" Wu turning a 2v4 situation around, in part thanks to a triple-kill from the Indonesian. Still, Renegades immediately countered the Asian team, who were only able to win two more rounds until half-time.

Now playing as Terrorists, Renegades won their third pistol of the series with a double and a triple-kill from Nifty and jkaem, respectively, to go up 13-3. TYLOO simply could not stop their opponents from hitting match-point, but they still tried to accomplish a comeback. by reaching their seventh round.

That was when Renegades called for a tactical pause, however, and sealed the deal after building up their economy, 16-8.

This Minor is basically useless when the same 2 teams always win it. Make a global Minor with teams from every region playing each other to qualify for the Major. Otherwise you get the same TyLoo and Renegades, some CIS clown with their 2 weeks era before disappearing to Tier 5 the rest of the year.

There are over 3 million Chinese CSGO players (and that does not count those playing the PW edition, which is free in China). Valve is not a fool. They had tried their best to let a Chinese team qualify so that they can sell more stickers. Now you want them to reverse what they did in the past year? Wake up.

Yeah i know. And i was rooting hard for TyLoo when they were close to make it to the "real" Major with 16 teams (losing 2-3 in the 5th and last game of Swiss, but getting crushed 3-16 against Dignitas - ex North - with some players like Mo failing a kill from behind against a planter and such) but unfortunately they weren't able to improve from that point at the following Major Qualifier, so yeah they got "helped" by Valve extending the Major to 24 teams. I hoped TyLoo could become a real powerhouse worldwide but overall they remained a Tier 3 team despite adding BnTeT for example.

Then why shouldn't more Asian teams allow to compete in the global scene? Without more teams play against international teams, they keep playing with each other and their experience remains unimproved. You are suggesting a system that allocates more spots to stronger regions. That not the spirit of sports. No one wants the World Cup to be a Europe Cup. Same here.

If you want it to be absolutely "fair", sure EU teams will occupy every spots in the major, but then by your rule, Asian kids will occupy literally every elite university in US and EU in no time.

That says that region is "hopeless" because these 2 teams (especially TyLoo) aren't super strong team worldwide, thus making that Minor pretty much useless.

And if they are decent teams they should be able to qualify against EU, NA, CIS teams on a global Minor. Don't see why NiP (as trash as they can be sometimes) would miss some Majors when a "trash" team like TyLoo has a 80+% chance of making it in their lul Minor every time.

They might be. Still unfair that TyLoo might have a 85% chance of qualifying from the Minor, whereas NiP might have 30-% ... Even if TyLoo is better, seeing Renegades and TyLoo qualify EVERY single time tells 100% that the competition they play against is just absurdly weak. Same goes for CIS minor : 1 week era at the Minor, 1 week era at the Major, get top 8 at Major like QBF and then you have your ticket for the next 2 following Majors (which is absurdly retarded, especially when QBF plays as a Tier 5 since, that logic also applied to F3 in the past LUL)

You know that rankings are biaised right ? Or maybe (sorry to say that to you) you're not smart enough to figure that you can get some points in local trash events in Asia the easier way, than in EU, so yeah Asia will be helped by those rankings, it's harder for NA (more competition) and even harder for EU. EU has it the hardest way, because it's the most stacked region. A full nonamer team in EU could be top 5 in Asia. A full nonamer team in Asia would lose to the 50th ranked team in the EU scene.

Sorry again for the 'not smart" thing but if you don't think rankings are "biaised" towards Asia (and it's harder for NA in comparison, and much harder for EU) you're delusional.

They still bring points. And even if they don't bring much, a team will score points from making a 13-16th finish in a big DH event, they could qualify for (through an easy asian qualifier) whereas some decent EU teams won't get those points if they can't qualify through a much harder qualifier.

Yes but if they always bomb out in last place (even if they qualify for a big event) they won't get enough points to significantly impact the rankings.

You only need slightly more than 70 points to be top 30, and with 100 you're close to top 20. A few more or less points and you quickly go from top 30 to top 50 and lower, the number of points between teams ranked 25th and lower is so small that grinding some points qualifying to Tier 1 events (even though the team could still qualify as a Tier 3-4 because the qualifier was easier) helps A LOT, even if you finish 13-16th at thi LAN event.

Same goes for qualifying for big events : asian qualifier will be easy, you get your ticket to a 250.000$ DH finish 13-16th you will score points, that a team that lost in semi of the EU qualifier can't get because they didn't qualify for that DH.

Well how do you want them to compete internationally? Destroying tier 7 Asian teams for free all the time how are they supposed to get the necessary practice against top EU teams if they rarely get to play against them?

I don't. It was you suggested Tyloo drop the Chinese lineup. I'm just telling you how silly and unrealistic the idea is. Do you really think Tyloo being international can get international sponsors? To begin with, you have to use English to communicate with them, that's something difficult for the current manager. Second, the sponsor competition is way to hard since all team are looking for the same sponsors. But every sponsors has Chinese counterparts which focus only on the Chinese market. There are Chinese versions of Twitch, HLTV, ESEA etc. For them the Tyloo logo is god and all the sponsors pool in. So why would the Tyloo manager drop the Chinese lineup to earn less from international sponsor they barely able to communicate?

Then BnTeT and Xxcurate should leave Tyloo, both are English speakers and can find a team with a better salary easily if they are willing to move to EU or NA. No point wasting away in a dead region with no competition other than an Aussie team who plays in NA and only come to Asian for easy qualifiers.

Then why you suggested "Tyloo should honestly drop the Chinese trash and go full Singapore team this is pathetic." in the first place.

I also suggested a super team Fancy1 (China) BnTeT (Singapore) Crazyguy (Vietnam) Machinegun (Mongolia) Solo (Korea) In my first comment I suggest full Singapore team cause, so Xxcurate and BnTeT can have better communication. Tyloo even bootcamped in EU for a while no improvement this lineup isn't going to work it's clear. BnTeT is a tier 1 rifler, he speaks English and he can IGL, he can find another team no problem I don't seeing him wasted in this garbage team same with Xxcurrate whos is a good player in his own right.

Yeah but the others need to step up. Nifty is so inconsistent. Same with AZR and USTILO.

Then there is no need to increase prizepools if "teams don't care about 15.000$" as winner took 30k and second only 15k. Same applied to a Liquid vs FaZe game, 3rd place decider where 3rd took 30k i think and 4th 15k, FaZe lost first map like 4-16, every delusional FaZe fan was like "they don't care HATER", Liquid lead like 12-0 on CT side Inferno and then FaZe comeback to 15-15 to win like 22-20 in OT, and FaZe lost again like 3-16 on the last map LUL
