k1ck release team

Portuguese organisation k1ck has announced that it has released its roster, headlined by Sergey "starix" Ischuk.

The Ukrainian-Lithuanian squad's time in k1ck has come to an end following their three-and-a-half-months long stint under the Portuguese organization, as the two parties "wanted to move in different directions".

The team was formed in May with veteran starix at the helm and went on to win three online tournaments: the Stream.me CIS Challenger League, Rivalry CIS Invitational, and Stream.me Gauntlet: CIS vs. EU #22.

starix's team are no longer part of k1ck

However, they only attended one LAN tournament in their time with k1ck, the MID.TV Cyber Cup, where they placed 9th-12th, and failed to qualify for a number of notable tournaments, most importantly the CIS Minor following an unsuccessful series of open qualifiers.

The former lineup of k1ck is the following:

Ukraine Sergey "starix" Ischuk
Lithuania Nikolaj "kalinka" Rysakov
Ukraine Vladyslav "arch" Svistov
Ukraine Sergey "smike" Sklyarenko
Ukraine Alexander "scoobyxie" Marynych

I meant... they never won anything (premier or at least recognized event) nor placed on top 10 on any event. So i don't get why did you talk about their '1.6 results' basically all that that team had was fox as a good player but thats it (._.')

Ok. I´ll give that one to you. But check this out: "K1ck eSports Club is a pioneer in Portugal and the second oldest European organization in activity, only surpassed by SK Gaming founded in 1997. The K1ck eSports Club Association started its activity in September 2005 and it was registered as a result of the online gaming club founded on October 1998, K1ck. Usually found performing in the many LAN tournaments that take place around the world, mainly in LAN Parties, K1ck are the first Portuguese eSports Association legally registered and in activity that evolved from an online gaming club. Also playing and participating in tournaments that take place in the Internet, K1ck conquered the first medal of the Portuguese Electronic eSports in the biggest European and World competitions, WCG and ESWC. This was achieved in March 2006 in the SEC2006 (European Championships) that took place in Hannover during the CeBit. In 2007 they have established a difficult to achieve record, contributing with 11 players for the 11 available spots in the Portuguese national representation at Seattle for the World Cyber Games, therefore making it an all-K1ck Portuguese representation. Winner of Dreamhack on Tour Valencia Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament in 2011, along with 2 victories in Dreamhack Winter for Need For Speed and World in Conflict in 2006 and 2007 respectively, the K1ck CS:GO squad is the most famous and representative team in the Club, having achieved the 9th position in the top 20 CS:GO World Ranking by ESEA in April 2013."

Im not denying that it is an old org. So bringing that is poitless. We are talking about results. liquipedia.net/counterstrike/SEC/2006 no k1ck win detected. Dreamhack had no Valencia event for cs in 2011 as far as I remember and there was only DH Winter that year. Also '' Need For Speed and World in Conflict'' results... like who cares about that, we are talking about cs, name it 1.6 or GO. (._.')

Regarding results, i agree with you. But you can´t deny that such an old org isn´t successfull. So many orgs, successfull ones, that never had major or big tournament wins, and still are successfull. Ex: Complexity.

The main point of the argument is not about the org's age, but about success in cs and that's something that K1ck lacks. Complexity had plenty of tournament wins and im not only talking about low tier ones. (._.')

kick's success with CS was always more or less about the iberian panorama. but kick had the best pes or fifa player signed for a lot of time, they had hypno (one of the best UT players worldwide) and a successful WC3 lineup back in the day.

We are talking about cs success (1.6, and GO and source if you want too), so nothing to mention about fifa, pes or wc3 here. Domestic success is nothing, and more in countries or regions where the scene was about of 3 or 4 teams. Put that success into an international context and the success is non existent. (._.')

well considering their budget (back then, even now), what the hell do you expect? back then (1.6 era) 1 player was making money in k1ck (fox), the other were all amateurs in the very basic sense of the word. they still managed to go to WCG's, ESWC's and CPL's, which were the majors back then. For a team with barely NO PROFESSIONALISM, that's more than fine.

The argument started about the org's cs success itself and not about circumstances (time, money), check #47 so I don't know why people bring the history or professionality thing. But if we include that professionality thing too I could mention plenty of teams in the same money situation that got way more success. Attendance to those events couldn't be considered as 'results worth pointing out' if you place not even top 10. To me, seems like people are trying too hard to change the subject based purely in nationalism and not in actual facts. (._.')

Well, you are wrong! Check Dreamhack's infographic - k1ck.com/14/images/k1ck/dreamhack_winner.. and you see K1ck in the list of winners, exactly in Dreamhack Valencia 2011 k1ck.com/14/index.php/en/cs-go/411-k1ck-.. 5th in Dreamhack WInter which means quarter finals

Yeah I was wrong with the Valencia thing. But it doesn't change the fact that K1ck is not an org worth remembering for it's '1.6 results'. Quarter finals means nothing. People only remember about 1st, maybe 2nd but from there none really count as 'good results'. (._.')

Considering that they got ahead of SK and tied with Fnatic in the final standings, it doesn't seem bad. But in CS:GO K1ck was 9th in a top 20 world ranking made by esea. Not bad at all I guess.

Is not bad for an event, of course. But we are talking about success over time. 9th place is not bad indeed. But still far away from the top, and for k1ck to be on that place, it was for sure during 2012/13 when the competition was low. For me the DH Valencia has more value than the rank thing, because none remembers about ranks (unless you place top 3 at least and for a long period of times, the so called eras). But now, place that DH Valencia (1.6) + 9th place ESEA rank ( GO) on their timeline of existence... their success is not even worth mentioning. If the guy starting the argument would've said 'local success' then yes, it could fit, but internationally they are just another random org (._.')

he was kicked from MANS NOT HOT (before imperial) because he didn't fit the team. would make more sense to add him to winstrike or flipside

one of the most promising teams, very hard in shooting. some lack of synergy however as arch undisciplined and kalinka too equidistant (also mediocre in shooting). rating last 3 months shows it as well, russian admins always can hide hovewer ))))))
