MIBR sweep past Kinguin to lift ZOTAC Cup Masters trophy

MIBR have won the 2018 edition of the ZOTAC Cup Masters after defeating Kinguin 3-0 in the grand final.

The opening map of this best-of-five series was Dust2. Kinguin had been the team picking it, but those watching the first half without knowing the veto certainly thought otherwise. The Polish side were completely outplayed by MIBR for most of the first half and only managed to break through the Brazilians' brick wall defence 13 rounds into the game, courtesy of a 1v2 clutch by Mikołaj "mouz" Karolewski.

Kinguin followed that up with another round, courtesy of a triple-kill by Jacek "MINISE" Jeziak, but MIBR ended the half with a flawless round to take a commanding 13-2 lead.

The second half started with Kinguin keeping their hopes alive after retaking the B site in impressive fashion, turning a tricky situation around. The Polish side went on to add three more rounds to their tally, but Fernando "fer" Alvarenga finally broke their resistance in the 20th round with a key triple kill.

That round immediately left Kinguin's economy in shambles, and the Polish players were helpless to keep MIBR from running away with the game.

Cache, the map that followed, was much more contested than Dust2. After losing the opening three rounds of the game, Kinguin fought back with full buys and quickly restored parity. MIBR then took control of proceedings, but a series of aggressive moves by Kinguin made this a competitive 9-6 half.

Brazilians win first title under MIBR

A quad-kill by mouz in a B execution earned Kinguin the second pistol of the round and set them up for a three-round streak. After buying up, MIBR kept a water-tight defence, bringing the scoreline to 14-10.

It looked like the Brazilians had the game under control, but Kinguin upped the pace and starting making a climb back into the map. However, two massive blunders from Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas's side, one of them in a 5v2 situation, saw MIBR get a hard-fought victory and take a 2-0 lead in the series.

fer opened up the action on Train with a stunning 1v4 clutch in the pistol round, giving MIBR an early lead on the Terrorist side. That round marked the beginning of a near-flawless half from the Brazilians, who cruised to a 14-1 lead as Kinguin could not keep up with the hight intensity implemented by the Brazilians.

More misery was to come for Kinguin as they could not hold the B site in a post-plant situation in the pistol round, with MIBR following that up with a successful anti-eco to seal a comprehensive 16-1 victory and a clean 3-0 series win.

they made the amazing decision to keep SHYTKO on their team for some retarded reason, but glad he will be gone after this major. Golden is good enough until they find someone better, but the c9 players are so good that made in BRAZIL needed 2 of them to make their team better elegiggle

You guys are weird, huh? First you tell Stewie2K was the worst player of C9 and none of you wouldn't miss him, now he's suddenly a great hero fallen from Clown9. Anyways, MiBR was still shit with 2K and Tarik. What was missing was a coach, and we got it. If both of them leave now to your meme team back again, we couldn't care less. Both our majors we got without burgers on it, and you should be thankful your "made in China/Turkey but born in USA for irony of destiny" had an opportunity to play with a actually good core.

I never doubted Stewie. You were lucky that portugal fucking raped the natives in Brazil and allowed for your pathetic favela existence. (thats a joke btw because you said some retarded shit about stewie and tarik being from outside the country even though they were born in the USA) and what is that "MIBR was shit with 2k" They still are. Beating up on lower skilled teams isn't improvement and its still wayy too early to see how much of an impact YANKOFF is doing for them. I know you're just frustrated that Brazil probably won't ever win another even over $500k, but who knows, maybe MIBR will just sign the rest of c9 and win something respactable lol.

Spirit, Na'Vi - 80% and 40% of those teams are from UA. Also in Spirit igl from UA and main carry of the team too. Pro100 - team, which is on the same lvl with Eu, sprout and Attax, so. UA cs better. HR - 2|5 from Ukrain.

ORG from UA, and coach. BTW in professional CS scene about 10 UA players at all, but all of them solid t1-1.5, so UA cs is grate. And to addition, Na'Vi, Ukrainian team, won a lot of t1 tournaments, and HR, Spirit wonned some Dream Hacks i.t.c. In compare, i cant remember any great German team who wonned smth (with 2< German players)

Bro you overrate these players Simple T1 Edward,ZeusT2(zeus bad indv player) Angel and bondik tier 2-3. Spirit guys nah potential is there but not more. And Orga doesn‘t count. Otherwise E.g. Sk gaming,Mouz are german and won much more trophies than na vi

Mouz and SK - non German players. And i cant remember what Mouz achived (i mean smth big?). SK were great only while they were LG - after SK signing they started to be shit, slowly but surely. BTW, Na'Vi - T1 team, only one who could compete with Astralis atm. So Edward and Zeus - yes, they are T1. So, Bondik and Angel - lvl of North, NiP itc. atm. So, if this teams t 2-3, im agreed. And Spirit - they are on the Major. All this teams with the most part of UA players (if we count coach, Spirit and HR 50% of UA) Certus and Jonta from UA, we will see, that 3 of these teams are on Major. And only BIG from German, who were lucky two majors ago to go throo group stage, coz of bug, wich has been yoused only by them. So, UA cs > All CS's, except Swedish and Danish, coz of big amount of solid t1-2 teams.

Sorry but edward and zeus are not t1 simple and electronic (and flamie sometimes) carry the shit out of them. Yeah spirit is major now but its only an achievment if they can reach the round of 16 Bigs major performances where not really good i accept but we will have to see what they can do but i think you don‘t understand that i‘m agreeing with you when you say that UA scene > German Scene. But only cuz navi is good atm. Zeus and edsard still no t1

Acrually, atm NIP> or = North. Astralis > Fnatic - true. Fragsters - onliners, couldnt compete even T2 teams like Valiance and Imperial, so they are < RR. Heroic = RR. Sprout = Chaos, true (or even Sprout> Chaos). BTW. Dans started to be great only with Astralis era. Swedish cs were one of the best from 1.6 to actual time. Swedish CS > all. Im agreed.

Tier 3 tournament. For example, Fnatic Academy won a better tournament in 2016 (China Top) and only went from 32 to 49 points. Gaining points in the lower ranks should be easier. Since you gaining points from being better than another opponent in a catergory. And becoming better than for example Pride in "form" at the time was much easier for Fnatic Academy to do than it should be now for MIBR to get a better for example "achivement" rank than let's say FaZe...

That shouldn't matter though at all. I mean, srsly. In what world would NaVi be able to take Astralis' throne by winning Moche XL, Adrenaline Cyber and WESG CIS LAN Finals? It's stupid. Beating complete unknown teams shouldn't gain you points. And if you beat them quite dominantly, you've just done what you're expected to do... That's it.

these lines have not met, and mibr I think it was only 2 tournaments with that line so I can not say that it is better (or worse) correct? on the other hand 2016 so far LG / SK / Mibr has more victories vs fnatic, so I guess fnatic is who owes something here

That's not how the HLTV ranking is done, it's done by the last 3 month's results... At the last 2 big events that both teams were at: ESL One Cologne: Playoffs for Fnatic, MIBR out in groups. MIBR player change, should lose a lot of points because of it. ELEAGUE: Both teams 5-6. MIBR beat #20 C9 while Fnatic beat top 4 FaZe.

tbh 200k$ for first place is a pretty good amount, the thing is top teams got too picky when it comes to events, i'm sure that the event organizer tried to get more top teams to play at their event, its not mibr's fault if other teams aretoo picky.

seeing so many ppl trash talking mibr for goin to these events, but i respect them for that, back in the day top teams would give their best in an event that had the prize pool of $ 300k nowdays teams won't even accept invites if they think that an event is not worth their time.

Guys, these players Know more than anyone this was a weak tournament. A glorified bootcamp. But still, I think It is humbling to Win a small tournament when you've been att the top. Means they are not embarassed to grind. First real event with tarik, first event with ynk. Could be the beginning of something great. Maybe, this lineup can win a tier 1 tournament Someday, only time will tell. Meanwhile, I wish them the best of luck. Ggwp

That's content. I'm sick of these HLTV kids. Hope the CS:GO community someday to be less toxic/childish. I don't mean competition doesn't have to exist, but, it should exist in a more respectful/based way.

Wanted to start a new topic at forums but was rejected due to "low activity" so I'm posting it here: Subject: Speaking of HLTV rating system There are hundreds of haters here but as much as HLTV's rating system is being scoffed at and called "stupid", "unrealistic" and "rigged" most matches still result in wins/losses according to the respective teams' rankings at HLTV. And I'm almost sure that the most recent MIBR win won't lift them above MouseSports. MIBR might swap places with BIG but that's it.

200k for beating Flash, Kinguin and MVP. *FUCK LOGIC* It's like everyone in the CS scene is afraid of being called racist if they don't give MIBR free money since they fucking suck against any tier 2 team or above. Like seriously, what a dumbass tournament.

+1 I have no idea how MIBR keep getting into these super low tier tournaments. and they're from the favela too so they don't feel any shame and can't turn down money. they'd crash a local LAN for kids if the prize pot was over a dollar per player and coldzera would still tweet afterwards that the win felt good lmao
