DreamHack Masters Stockholm viewer's guide

With the first big event after the player break right around the corner, we've compiled everything you need to know about DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018.

Featuring eight teams currently in the Top 10, DreamHack Masters Stockholm is set to be the big test of form for the best squads before the FACEIT Major kicks off in a week's time.

Taking place from Wednesday through Friday, the Swedish event will see 16 teams split into four groups featuring a GSL-style, double elimination format, with the initial matchups being best-of-ones and the elimination and decider matches being best-of-threes.

The two top teams from each group will move on to the single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs for a chance to take the title.

FaZe have one last chance to complete their Grand Slam run

Boasting a $250,000 prize pool, DreamHack Masters Stockholm will take place in the famed Ericsson Globe. It is part of the Intel Grand Slam and will count towards winning the $1,000,000 prize given to any team that wins four Grand Slam events out of ten. Seven teams are currently in the running to do so, with FaZe having to win in Stockholm before their points from ESL One New York 2017 expire.

To guide you through the action in Stockholm, DreamHack have pulled in some of the most familiar names from the talent pool. Three duos will be casting the games with Anders Blume and Jason "⁠moses⁠" O'Toole on the A stream, Hugo Byron and Conner "Scrawny" Girvan on the B stream, and Henry "⁠HenryG⁠" Greer pairing up with Vince Hill for the C stream.

On the analysis desk will be three former players, Chad "⁠SPUNJ⁠" Burchill, Mathieu "⁠Maniac⁠" Quiquerez, and Jacob "⁠Pimp⁠" Winneche. Meanwhile, Tres "⁠stunna⁠" Saranthus will be reporting on the sidelines and Alex "⁠Machine⁠" Richardson hosting the desk.

Honestly the countries do not matter The event organizer defines the prize pool. E.g. ESl is part of a german company(which belongs mostly to a swedish company) so its a company in europe. They don‘t have that much money. There was an article in hltv that said, that esl would make loss in terms of money if the increase the prize pools in their tournaments. Zotac e.g. had only one tournament this year. So you can make the prize pool higher. Edit: sry for my bad english

well, when the final is bo3, with all the paused expect the game to be finished 3 hours later at 21:00 you cant go with car in central stockholm because thats just impossible if you live somewhere in stockholm and can just take the subway or walk, no problem as for me who goes to high school next morning, first need to go back to our car which is impossible to park close to the arena its 3 hour drive to our home city we are home 00:00 or later its not enough

MIBR needed confidence. They were smart to attend ZOTAC. Now, they have more confidence to play against the top tier teams and makes Noah happy after 200k prize pool. We´ll see if they really improve in bootcamp with YNk and new member tarik.

Liquid is a legit top 5 team while MIBR is only in the top 10 because of that kind of event and get destroy everytime they play at a tier 1 event, this isnt even close to be the same kind of situation and Liquid dont abuse of these tournaments, and ofc if liquid did and won Everybody would still say its irrelevant since they would have only played bad teams to do so but at least liquid fans wouldnt talk about it like its a tier 1 tournament since they arent dumb and know a bit of cs for the most part
