FACEIT Major New Challengers stage third round drawn

FACEIT have drawn the third-round matchups of the New Challengers stage, which will see two teams advance to the next stage and two teams get eliminated.

Even though the Buchholz seeding system is used from the third round on at the FACEIT Major, there was too little disparity between the teams' Buchholz scores (a sum of their opponents' scores).

Virtus.pro will go up against North in the 0-2 pool

There was only one matchup that could have been chosen based on the Buchholz score, TYLOO versus Gambit, but the two teams had already faced each other, which means that the matchups were drawn completely randomly within each pool.

The third round will see the winners of the 2-0 pool advance to the New Legends stage, while the two teams who lose the 0-2 matches will get eliminated.

The matchups are the following:

2-0 pool (winner advances to New Legends stage)
11:00 - Liquid vs. Vega Squadron
12:30 - Astralis vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas

1-1 pool
14:00 - Complexity vs. BIG
15:30 - Spirit vs. Rogue
17:00 - Gambit vs. HellRaisers
18:30 - TYLOO vs. OpTic

0-2 pool (loser gets eliminated)
20:00 - Renegades vs. Space Soldiers
21:30 - North vs. Virtus.pro

last year, the major main qualifier was renamed to 'new challenger stage' and is since part of the major itsself (the teams get stickers). the major groupstage was renamed to 'new legends stage' (since it doesn't have groups anymore), the playoffs were renamed to 'new champions stage'.
