HellRaisers defeat Gambit at FACEIT Major

HellRaisers are now 2-1 in the FACEIT Major's New Challengers Stage after defeating Gambit 16-14 on Overpass.

The match kicked off with Nikolay "⁠mir⁠" Bityukov finding three opponents in a 4v4 retake to help Gambit to win their CT pistol, which they followed up with an anti-eco. But as HellRaisers picked up weapons, Gambit were helpless to find a way to counter their opponents, who went on a great run and took a 6-3 lead.

Rustem "⁠mou⁠" Telepov then found an impressive quad-kill with the AWP while holding A, inspiring his team to eventually equalize the score. HellRaisers got back on the board in a save round with no kevlar, but that was not enough to stop Gambit from taking the lead by half-time, albeit by the narrowest of margins.

Gambit got off to a good start as Terrorists, winning the pistol and the following anti-ecos to go up 11-7. HellRaisers responded with a three-round streak to reduce the deficit to a single round, but Gambit picked themselves up and added pair of rounds to their tally.

HellRaisers did not let the game snowball out of control, however, and tightened up their defence. With a series of great individual rounds, including an ace from Kyrylo "⁠ANGE1⁠" Karasiow in the 27th round, the CIS Minor champions strung four rounds together to seal a hard-fought victory, their second in London.
