HellRaisers edge past OpTic in overtime; to New Legends Stage

With a 25-23 victory over OpTic on Train, HellRaisers have sealed passage to the FACEIT Major's New Legends Stage in London.

The third match of the day kicked off with OpTic picking up a quick 3-0 lead after winning their T-side pistol. HellRaisers replied with a successful gun round thanks to doubles from Issa "⁠ISSAA⁠" Murad and Özgür "⁠woxic⁠" Eker in A main, and eventually equalized the score at 3-3.

With their economy back on track, OpTic tried to execute A, but they were held off by ISSAA and woxic. The Danish team responded immediately to level up the score, HR's star duo came up huge once again and broke their opponents' economy.

After building up their economy, OpTic went on a three-round streak to grab the lead for the first time in the match, 7-6. Still, first with an impressive triple-kill from Vladyslav "⁠bondik⁠" Nechyporchuk and then with doubles from ISSAA and Kyrylo "⁠ANGE1⁠" Karasiow, HellRaisers won the final two rounds of the half to switch sides with a narrow lead.

The second half began with René "⁠cajunb⁠" Borg finding a great quad-kill in a 5v5 retake to help his team to win their CT pistol, which OpTic followed up with an anti-eco. HellRaisers were able to buy in the next round, but they could not win it as Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer found the bomb planter with just three seconds left on the clock.

HellRaisers still lost one more round before getting back on the board on a shoddy buy, which inspired them to string four rounds together and take a 12-11 lead. The rest of the half was highly contested, with neither side able to close it out in regulation.

The first two overtimes could not determine a winner as the teams kept cancelling each other out, but then HellRaisers finally prevailed, locking down the map at 25-23 to assure themselves of a top-16 finish at the Major.
