e-Stars name Team East and West

The e-Stars committee announces the teams to represent Team East and West at e-Stars Seoul 2009.

The fan vote for e-Stars closed on the 17th of May, with fnatic, Made in Brazil and mousesports finishing top three. The fan vote had this year once again had a series of suspicious amounts of votes landing on teams over night. With the removal of invalid votes, a total of 1.5 million fans from 177 nations voted. The team would however receive points based on their results during 2008 and 2009, additional points would be added by the organizing committee.

With all of this added up, Team East and West will be represented by following team:

Neither Made in Brazil and mousesports gathered enough points based on their results in 2008 and 2009, which ruled them out. mTw scored top score in results and also placed as the top ranked team, votes, results and committee votes combined. Sweden will have two teams attending, as both fnatic and SK Gaming made it to the top three.

East will see WeMade FOX, Tyloo and k23 represent the team during e-Stars Seoul 2009. WeMade FOX placed sixth in the fan voting, but received best marks in the results in 2008 and 2009. Joining them will be Chinese Tyloo, alongside with k23 from Kazakhstan, who recently have been showing great play at various tournaments, winning Arbalet Cup #2 just last week.

HLTV.org will be onsite at e-Stars Seoul 2009, bringing you all of the action from the eSports answer to Ryder Cup.

With mousesports having seen gore retire, I guess this is what I hoped for in the end. I would however liked if WICKED had made it, but the fan votes ruled them out this time *sadface*.

sadly not a real chance for team east...so imho with almost all the top teams in europe it's kind of pointless to have the "east" take on the "west" edit: it's like a hockey tournament between the northern and southern hemispheres :)

Agree. They shoyld add WICKED to the list, they're double-ply ESWC champions. Tyloo - I never heard about them, wnv.cn or wnv.gm are worth to represent east.

im sorry but mousez havent done much lately and they strugglin so i dont see why people say they should be there. but wicked had been nice there since there are two swedish teams. and wasent hltv not alowed i this tourney last year ? if not i hope they can cover it this year.

You're right, but they base it on '08 results. If they can keep it up they might have the chance attend e-Stars Seoul 2010. As for the participants - I'm glad it's SK and fnatic. MiBR simply doesn't deserve it.

May i ask something...?Has TyLoo Won any tournament on 2008 or 2009?I think no...wNv.CN won Extreme Masters Asia At Chedgu and had a nice performance at ESWC Masters i think..were they lost to EG , Beating wmf and another chinese team..So Why TyLoo And No wNv?I want Answers From Nix0n or Nomad or The Spanish guy:P or anyone who knows well what happend..Thx and sorry for my english:P

no, it is decided by the "crew" based on results and other stuff :) SK, fnatic and mTw was simply the three best teams in 2008. if we should count only 2009 and forget 2008, it would be SK, fnatic and WICKED probably, (maybe mTw).
