axoN returns to k1ck

k1ck eSports Club have confirmed that Joaquim "axoN" Pinto has returned to the Counter-Strike team.

Pinto, who was released by k1ck in February, had been without a team following the disbandment of exotic's Counter-Strike squad.

He has now been handed another chance at k1ck, where he will be reunited with three of his former Defining Stars team-mates.

Pinto will fill in for 16-year-old Christopher "mUttt" Fernandes, who is unable to attend this year's WCG event due to the tournament's age restriction rule.

"The whole team sat down and decided this was the best thing to do, mUttt would not be able to participate in the WCG in November because of his age and the WCG will be the most important event we will have," team captain Helder "coachi" Sancho told HLTV.org.
"axoN is a player that went through a hard time and did not work hard enough and was removed from the team as such, but we all know he is one of the best Portuguese players, perhaps the most aggressive one and the best aimer. With his addition, we gain a lot of skill and aggressiveness."

k1ck's first event with the new line-up will be GameGune 2009, where Sancho hopes that they will fare a lot better than last year.

"We want to be one of the best teams in the world and we believe that with this change we will be closer to that, we hope we can beat some of the main favourites at GameGune and if possible finish in one of the top places," he added.

k1ck have the following team:

I think that axoN is a very good player, in a very good team, his skill and experience is better than mUttt "i think!" :)

i really believe that muttt is better then axon, and kick players seem to believe so, otherwise they wouldnt had removed him, and muttt proved it against eml @ russia. and he is only 16, if he plays in a team, that he can grow up, he is gonna be the best, by far.. my opinion..:)

axoN the only guy who seems to get the spotlight at tournaments over seas. Although mUtt is an excelent player, who made a great performance at the Kode5 finals, K1CK will benefit from this trade. Gl guys. :)

As far as I have looked up WCG follows ESRB rating standards, and CS has a rating of Mature, that is "suitable for persons ages 17 and older".

coachi is a dreamer..:) but hey, i never saw a pt team as good as this 1, its true i dont follow much pt scene but nevertheless, if muttt had stayed, based on what they did against emulate @ russia, they cant play against best teams in the world if they keep the line-up and attend international tournaments...i believe...:)

I think is the obvious choice for k1ck if mutt can't go! It's hard to choose between the two who is the best player, but for me axoN it's top5 player in portugal (foxj,shouw,axoN/mutt, weapon) because they are very similar player's with insane aim! But if possible i wanted that axoN fill the place of Quick because is so weak :O but this is just me wondering...

i never watched this mUttt play but as far as i know, axoN is also a good player and probably one of the best in portugal. played him and k1ck a couple of times some time back and he was always among the better players in the team in every game :)

Just one more thing...the team captain coachi said on fraglider that: "axon em skill individual é o jogador pt que mais se aproxima do fox", "on individual skill axon is the portuguese player who get more closer to foxj". I think this tells how good is axoN when is on shape :)

I follow portuguese cs scene since like 2003, when SK visited Portugal on their tour all around the Europe, SK looked like a bunch of guys from a public server against fox, he was definately the best player in the world, ofcourse, he is from the country that never achieved anything good in any big tournaments, but fox was the only person by that time who was able to own SK so much, knowing the SK was the best team in the world. Even in local scene he is still the best, you can say anything you want, that dude has more experience in this game than any other portuguese, and any team he is in, is the best in Portugal. good luck to k1ck, hope you show to the world, what you can do, but remember, fox cant win the game, the team needs to win the game.
