flusha signs for Cloud9

Cloud9 have completed the signing of Robin "⁠flusha⁠" Rönnquist from fnatic, the two organisations have announced.

The Swedish player joins Cloud9 on a permanent basis just days after HLTV.org revealed that he was all but confirmed to play for the team at the upcoming BLAST Pro Series Istanbul instead of Martin "⁠STYKO⁠" Styk, who had been on loan with the squad since July.

The 25-year-old had been benched by fnatic in the aftermath of the team's disappointing run at the FACEIT Major, where they were eliminated in the New Legends Stage with a 2-3 record.

With this move, flusha calls an end to almost five years of service to fnatic, during which the team won several international events, including three Majors (DreamHack Winter 2013, ESL One Katowice 2015 and ESL One Cologne 2015).

He will follow in the footsteps of compatriot and former teammate Maikil "⁠Golden⁠" Selim, who was signed by Cloud9 in August after also being benched by fnatic. During their time together, between August 2017 and June 2018, the Swedish team won IEM Katowice and the $1.5 million WESG 2017 Finals.

“Joining Cloud9 is one of those opportunities in life that just felt right for me to pursue," he told Cloud9's website.

"Getting to play with hungry players that want to achieve what I once achieved is a big motivator, because I am not done yet.

"I hope to bring a lot of experience to this talented and young group of players, and I’m looking forward to getting to know the team better as well. Bringing us onto a winning path will follow from there!”

Cloud9, who will face MIBR in their first match on Turkish soil, scheduled for Friday at 18:00 , now have the following line-up:
