Astralis to skip EPICENTER

The Major champions will not go to Moscow for EPICENTER 2018 because the players need to recover from a 'tough period', the organisation has announced.

With two back-to-back events and as many victories recently behind them, Astralis have decided to pull out of EPICENTER 2018 set to take place from October 22-28 in Moscow, Russia.

According to a Twitter post, the team feels 'forced to give the players time to recover' after it won the FACEIT Major as well as BLAST Pro Series Istanbul 2018 without practicing between the two events because of their proximity.

Astralis will take time off after winning the Major and BLAST Pro Istanbul

The Major champions have adopted a policy of skipping several bigger events to reduce travel time and improve preparation, a policy that the team's coach, Danny "⁠zonic⁠" Sørensen expanded on when we interviewed him at ESL One Cologne in July.

With Astralis pulling out of EPICENTER 2018, the team list for the event looks as follows:

Lol, what an idiot, device already said in the interview after they won Blast that they didn't prepare AT ALL for this tourney, just went on the momentum for major. So Mibr just played against an Astralis that didn't really give a damn. They shat on everyone at the major (which is >>>>>> this 3rd-rate event). you have no idea about tennis stop emberrasing yourself with that comparison , tennis players dont play every 2 weeks. Top players play only master series tournaments , grand slams and 1-2 minor tournaments to get into form sometimes. For example first 3 players in rankings (nadal , federer and djokovic) havent played any tournament since us open wich ended 9 sept and they will play shanghai masters wich is starting 15 oct -> thats 1 month and 1 week period despite tournaments beeing played EVERY week in asian tour in this period. they only play BIG tournaments as i said . of course the physical drain is not comparable to tennis i agree but if you want to give 100% every time you play and come up with inovative stuff to mantain your dominance you dont play every week or every single tournament because you enter a routine and it will become very easy fopr the other teams to anti strat you or even motovation might drop so my opinion is that astralis is doing a very professional job by cherry picking tournaments and winning them all , thats the way to be nr.1 not playing like a retard every tournament.
