Sprout, Fragsters advance to Europe Minor closed qualifier

Sprout and Fragsters have come out on top of the first Europe Minor open qualifier to advance to the closed part, which will take place in mid-December.

The first open qualifier took place over the last two days, with various well-known teams battling for two spots in the closed part, where eight invited teams await.

The likes of LDLC, Red Reserve, Valiance, as well as a LeftOut mixteam featuring Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey, Alexandre "xms" Forté, Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom, Žygimantas "nukkye" Chmieliauskas, and Mikail "Maikelele" Bill, could not make it far enough, as they all went out in the round of 16.

Sprout move on to the closed qualifier

Meanwhile, Sprout made it all the way to the top after beating AGO, Vitality, and 3DMAX in the last three rounds of the qualifier, securing a spot in the closed part in which they found success in the last Major cycle.

Fragsters will also make their second consecutive closed qualifier appearance, as they secured the second spot in the other half of the bracket after beating PRIDE, x6tence Galaxy, Endpoint, and Chaos en route to the grand final.

The Europe Minor closed qualifier team list currently looks as follows:

Europe MOUZ
Finland ENCE
Denmark HEROIC
Poland Kinguin
Germany Sprout
Europe Open qual. #2
Europe Open qual. #3
Europe Open qual. #4
Denmark North
Denmark OpTic
Poland Virtus.pro

The next Europe Minor open qualifier will run on October 29-30, with signups still being open on ESEA's website.

Honestly this was unexpected. I expected Vitality, LDLC, AGO, etc. to take this. I'm glad they proved they could do it great job to Fragsters and Sprout.

Those teams except LDLC are pure trash. They cant do anything...LDLC is also mid-tier but still better than those two trash teams

These teams have got 3 other chances to qualify. Don’t worry, bo1s happen to be sometimes, quite random.

None of those are natural awpers. Nip would do good with a good, dedicated awper.

who cares about draken noob? He is right, NiP would be better with a dedicated awp right now, f0rest rez lekr0 and dennis awps, and no one is good. F0rest has good positionining on T side, but his reactions now are not good for awp ,

I can agree on that, but is NiP willing to drop the Swedish only lineup since allu to improve?

Didn't really comment about whether or not Nato would be good for NiP. I actually doubt it, but I honestly think they would be better off with a dedicated awp. About draken, he just showed that he didn't have the working mentality etc. for tier 1 proteams yet. I don't know enough about the Swedish amateur/semipro scene to say if there's any good future AWP-subjects for NiP, but the main problem for Sweden-teams right now is imo that there is no good tier 1 AWPer in their scene right now.

besides those you mentioned. not sure if all of these are playing but potential upset teams (considering its bo1): 3dmax, alternate attax, movistar riders, tempo storm (new lineup with cromen, rubino i think), epsilon, tricked, bpro and some other random mixes.

idk but they occasionally takes maps off decent MDL teams (ence, attax, red reserve - tho with standin). I dont think they have a chance to qualify but they could knock some team off
