Evil Geniuses see off Begrip

Evil Geniuses are through to the semi-finals at Dreamhack Summer after defeating Begrip Gaming in a three-map showdown.

The American-based team managed to survive a gritty fightback by Begrip, sealing a 2-1 win that pust them in the battle for the final.

Evil Geniuses proved a strong figure on de_train as CT, taking a total of 12 rounds into the second half. Begrip were expected to react now on defence but some sloppy play allowed EG to take the necessary four rounds to win the first map.

On de_nuke, however, it was another story. Begrip were now a much improved side and stormed to a first-half result of 13-2 which left almost no room for mistakes for EG. The American side still put up a good fight in the second period but it was too much to come back from and Begrip would win the map 16-7.

All eyes were now on de_inferno, the decisive map. EG, starting out as CT, showed they were good at defensive duties, winning the first period 9-6. Now on offense, they claimed the seven rounds they needed but not before seeing Begrip getting dangerously close to them.

A joyed lurppis

Evil Geniuses have now progressed to the semi finals, where they will entertain Lemondogs, who come off of a 2-0 success over HSBG.

Better than before I can tell you, they need to keep practicing, and just because they have money don't just replace players, keep playing with one lineup, because the players really are good, and just keep working. I mean look at how much time it took for SK to build their team, when zet first came to the team they were far from good. It took a few months or more.

I know, but my point was that lurppis gave them tactics and teamplay, which they didn't have before. If hanes was a good player, OK?
