CIS Minor Open Qualifier #4 has been brought to an end today, with LAN DODGERS and PUGSTAR5 grabbing the last two spots for the Closed Qualifier.

The top eight of the last Open Qualifier for the CIS region didn't feature that many known teams, with DreamEaters and Vyalie Pitoni being the two most notable squads, but there were some well-known players competing under mix-names.

In the quarter-finals, former Quantum Bellator Fire and Winstrike teammates Savelii "⁠jmqa⁠" Bragin and Nikita "⁠waterfaLLZ⁠" Matveyev faced off as LAN DODGERS met tomorrow will be better, with the former taking the win. Playing under de_aztec was known CIS figure Aleksei "⁠OverDrive⁠" Birukov, whose team also featured two Swedes, Rasmus "⁠kreaz⁠" Johansson and Aleksandar "⁠jayzaR⁠" Zarkovic. de_aztec was also eliminated in the quarter-finals, losing in overtime to Vyalie Pitoni.

jmqa, formerly of Winstrike and QBF, qualified for the Closed Qualifier under LAN DODGERS

In the match between LAN DODGERS and Vyalie Pitoni, Vladyslav "⁠arch⁠" Svistov was the main man, topfragging for his side on both of the maps they won: Inferno (16-13) and Mirage (19-15), therefore seeing LAN DODGERS secure one of the Closed Qualifier spots.

On the other side of the bracket, we saw DreamEaters take on PUGSTAR5 in the semi-final and lose 2-0 after an overtime on Cache (19-16) and a convincing T-side showing on Train by their opponents (16-9).

With that, all of the CIS Minor Closed Qualifier teams have been determined:

The CIS Minor Closed Qualifier will take place on November 17-18, with the sixteen teams competing for eight spots at the CIS Minor.

Not really, the point is that even them can choke, in that case we'd only see CIS mix team and classic POGs.. I'd like to see worldedit with winstrike but it's an overrated team just because they have been to the major

and where is draken now? :D All that whine,I can understand it(even agree,that cis should have 1 spot for main quals),but that minor is a chance to some nonamers to prove themselves,what if one of them will be future pro like ropz or elec? And where should they show themselves if not on a minor? Think about it before sh*tting on that minor. Peace.

draken being at higher rank than all of these other teams apart from Gambit and Avangar, while basicly being in a dead team proves his point even further. The CIS minor is a disgrace.

On my own? Must be nice being delusional. Why should CIS players have an easier road to major than any other region? Arguably they are even worse than Asian teams, your point that "new talent will rise", if they are good enough they would rise through any region qualifier rather than being handed out a free spot.

I wish they were but I guess its not worth to pay so much for minor qualification (fly in, hotels etc.). But would be a good way to get rid of LAN dodgers early.

LDLC, AGO, Red Reserve, Vitality, HAVU, Movistar Riders, Epsilon, Leftout + like 14 MDL/Advanced level teams that were making top16. -2 teams since 1 more qualifier. If LDLC + Red Reserve/AGO/Vitality make it then top 8s would probably be same quality. Still CIS looks scuffed with qualifiers not having enough decent teams.
