RFRSH sell off Heroic

The HEROIC brand, along with the players, has been sold off by RFRSH, the organisation has announced.

Going forward, Asger "⁠AcilioN⁠" Larsen and co. will be playing under the HEROIC tag for a company called Seranades Global Inc., from which Erik Askered becomes the new Executive Director for the brand. Askered is also a partner in CUBE Esports, a marketing agency that also employs the former Swedish 1.6 star Emil "⁠HeatoN⁠" Christensen.

The move means that RFRSH are now in compliance with WESA rules, after the organisation promised in June 2017 that it would scale down on the number of teams they held ownership of. Since RFRSH' former team GODSENT ceased its operations in June this year, RFRSH now only own Astralis while also organising the BLAST Pro Series events.

The agreement between RFRSH and Seranades Global Inc. involves "the players' contracts, licenses, and all rights" regarding the team, according to a statement sent out by RFRSH. The organisation goes on to state that it has been working on the sale for some time, and that several potential investors showed interest in acquiring the brand. HEROIC's new Executive Director, Erik Askered, had the following to say about the deal:

We see great opportunity in acquiring Heroic. The team has a tremendous potential, which we look forward to develop towards the goal of becoming the number one CS:GO-team in the world, says Askered.

HEROIC are currently ranked #19 in the world and have two events ahead of them, with Toyota Bangkok Masters commencing November 20 and DreamHack Winter coming up the week after.
