Vitality to Atlanta playoffs over Rogue

Vitality beat Rogue in two maps (Nuke 16-5, Overpass 16-10) to advance to the playoffs at DreamHack Open Atlanta.

Vitality were the first to get out of the gate on Nuke, taking a three-round lead on the attacking side after Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut won a 1vs2 clutch in the pistol round.

Rogue were able to get on the board on the first gun round, but were then reset as Dan "apEX" Madesclaire and Cédric "RpK" Guipouy shredded through the defense the following round. The French team then further increased their lead against pistols, 5-1, starting to run away with the half.

After going down 1-7, Rogue were finally able to bring it back as both teams traded rounds and the American-European team were able to chain the last three together to go 6-9 at the switch. After that, however, it was the Vitality show, as Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt’s side won the pistol round and put up the wall, not giving a single round in a 16-6 map.

Happy & co. move on the playoffs in Atlanta

The second map started like the first, with Vitality taking the pistol round and the two following before losing the first gun round. They then, once again, reset Rogue, and started with a 5-1 lead after winning an anti-eco.

The rest of the half quickly turned, however, as Rogue went on a completely dominant display to take nine rounds in a row as Hunter "SicK" Mims and Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland shone on the defense.

The second half saw Vitality once again win the pistol round and win against the forcebuy and the eco. The French side easily then slid into a groove, once again proving the dominant side of the defense as Rogue were unable to break through and quickly lost the lead. Without giving up a single round, Vitality sealed the deal, 16-10, to clinch the last spot in the playoffs.

how is vitality tier 5 EU? They have 2 major winners in the team and two other extremely successful players as well as a young super star. It’s just a new team.

By that logic Gambit is a t1 team .... Vitality has been playing t5 teams and loosing as well. Rogue isn't t1 NA though, plenty of better teams in NA.

gambit is a tier 5 team because they haven’t been able to have consistentky good results since pgl krakow. vitality formed as a team 2 months ago and this is their first lan ever. we really can’t judge them

By what logic? He never mentioned tier 1 teams. All he said is that they arent t5 which is obviously true. They just smashed a tier 3 team

"They have 2 major winners in the team and two other extremely successful players" That doesn't mean shit. proof: see GeT_RiGhT, karrigan, Edward, pronax, Xizt, byali, Snax, TaZ, pashaBiceps, and neo.

i’m not sure what your point is arguing but if you’re using get_right, karrigan, xist, and edward as examples of bad players that’s not accurate at all. also vp players have been on a downward decline for 2 years, same with pronax. exactly the same with all of their teams

that’s just false. yes there are some players who are skilled who haven’t gotten achievements for various reasons but they’re rare. if someone wins a big event they’re skilled. that can be in support, decision making, leadership etc. not just aim

He is skilled just that he didn't adjust too well in csgo. Just like markeloff he was the most dominating cs1.6 awper on it's dying years and well where is he now? Fifflaren just gave up too soon and i can't blame him for that, the csgo community is full of toxicity.

It has been a lot longer since they achieved something, you are talking as if they were still relevant 3 months ago, which isn't even nearly true. They sucked in G2, and before that they sucked in envyus, now they suck in vitality, no difference. Happy and RPK are never going to get back to good levels again, just kick these washed up players already..

Correction: if someone has won an event in the past they were skilled at that time, but aren’t necessarily now. Wayne Rooney won the premier league 5 times and the champions league once. His past achievements don’t now make DC United a tier 1 team globally.

Well by most people’s standards tiers of teams in cs are determined by performance in tournaments, weighted by the level of competition, and over a period of time. Imo a tier 1 team is one that has consistently reached playoffs of majors over a year or so. I’ve only ever seen you determine the tier system by the lifetime career achievements of teams players.

i agree, but when you have a team like Vitality who had prior to this never been to a LAN you would resort to previous achievements and skill sets on the team. Also I did say Gambit wasn’t tier one because they hadn’t been consistent in literally a full year.
