NiP defeat North 2-0; book semis spot

Ninjas in Pyjamas have defeated North 2-0 (16-10 Inferno and 16-7 Overpass) to book their semi-final spot in the ECS Season 6 playoffs.

The Group B winners' match kicked off on Inferno, North's map pick, where Ninjas in Pyjamas's Dennis "⁠dennis⁠" Edman tapped down three with the USP-S to secure the pistol. Swiftly, North got right back to it on the eco on the back of Philip "⁠aizy⁠" Aistrup's quad-kill, which paved the way for the Danes to rack up four in a row to make it 5-1.

It wasn't until the seventh round where a stern hold from Ninjas in Pyjamas on B got them back on track, locking down the next three to tie things up at 5-5. The Swedes conducted their stout defense to win three more on their side, before North won back-to-back 1v1s by Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså to finish the half down 7-8.

Ninjas in Pyjamas got things started in the second half, winning the T pistol and the following anti-eco to have three rounds over the Danes (10-7). In return, North began to chip away at Ninjas in Pyjamas's lead claiming three narrow rounds, but, in the end, Christopher "⁠GeT_RiGhT⁠" Alesund and his men kept their composure, winning five straight to lock down the map as 16-10 victors.

The series then moved on to Overpass. A chaotic start to the pistol round resulted in Nicklas "⁠gade⁠" Gade earning the T pistol over dennis in a 1v1 post-plant situation. aizy & gade put in most of the work to pick up the following anti-eco, but things began to spiral out of control, as Ninjas in Pyjamas demonstrated a solid CT side with six defensive rounds over the Danes, making it 6-2.

The Danes came rallying back into the game, as the Terrorists' quick execute on A resulted in a plant, which saw North force the CTs to save, cutting their deficit down by three. This sparked a short-lived run for North, who locked down the next three out of four (6-7), before Ninjas in Pyjamas closed the half with a 9-6 score.

The second half was a much different story, which featured Ninjas in Pyjamas right from the start, with the Swedes firing on all cylinders on their T side, winning five in a row to make it 14-6. North kept their dreams alive by picking up their seventh of the game, but Ninjas in Pyjamas wasted no time booking their place in the playoffs, winning the remaining two rounds to take the map 16-7 and 2-0 series victory.
