BUSSIFUORI, XIX in for GameGune

BUSSIFUORI and XIX have been added to GameGune's list after winning their respective qualifiers this weekend.

The Portuguese qualifier for GameGune, which took place this weekend at the recently-built Guimaform LAN center in Guimarães, attracted a total of 26 teams from across the country.

After two intense group phases, a single-elimination best-of-three stage followed. Former ex-k1ck Christopher "mUtttt" Fernandes' new team, BUSSIFUORI, confirmed their favourite status here, cruising past HARDISTURB and RevolutionGames before meeting in the final Phantoms, who had disposed of Wit! and energiE5.

BUSSIFUORI crushed Phantoms on de_dust 16-2, but were surprised on de_inferno, where they suffered a 19-16 defeat. The last map, de_nuke, was a close one, but BF came out on top 16-12 to join k1ck eSports Club at GameGune.

BUSSIFUORI have the following line-up:

Paulo "Body" Figueiredo
Christopher "mUtttt" Fernandes

Elsewhere, XIX won the Venezuelan qualifier for GameGune, held at DIDE 2009.

In the Grand Final, XIX proved their superiority over NoLimits, winning de_inferno and de_nuke 16-11 and 16-7, respectively, to win almost €4,000 in addition to the GameGune spot.

XIX was in the Kode5 PanAm qualys but Artyk ended up with the spot for the global finals. XIX is one of the oldest Latin American teams. I always root for them when they make appearances. GL to both teams. GameGune is going to be a very interesting tournament.

Besides what MIRAA has told you bare in mind that GameGune takes place at the same time than eStars CS in Seoul, therefore teams like mTw , SK and fnatic will not attend GameGune as they have been selected to attend the eStars competition ;)
